Where do the bigger type gems come from?

I've noticed a few of these on vendors for sale. They are slightly larger than normal NPC purchased gems. Where do / did they come from?

There much better for deco purposes I find, does anyone have some for sale?

Here is an amethyst as an example. Left is NPC purchased.

The bigger ones come from the gem cart vet reward. I like the looks of them better, too.

There was something special about the gems that came from killing the Crimson Dragons known as "The Six" that appeared at various locations some years back.

Perhaps those are they?

I unlock the box, back off a few tiles, hopefully in a direction that hasn't too many nasties on screen, cast telekenisis on the box twice then hide or invis. Stealth back to the box and empty it

Same here, that's in fact how I got the amethyst. Sometimes I just open and absorb the damage. As long as your over 100 HP you should be ok.

The other gems I got from vendors. Do other large ones spawn at Exodus does anyone know?

Does that mean all the gems from the six event are now pretty much worthless if they spawn in the cart? Or are there some that are still different?

Hear's a picture of mine from the six event iv had them in the blue box we got aswell from the event ever since.

I don't even have the remove trap skill. I either stand back and cast telekinesis on the box or just open and abosrb the damage.

I ask because my father has a large diamond that he says was won by a friend in an event a LONG time ago and who gave it to my dad before she quit. It should have been one of a kind (going off of what he says. I didn't play UO at that time and have no clue what event this could have been from) but I thought I saw it on some vendors a while back.

I think your refering to a diamond AKA Valeks Diamond, as far as i know that hasnt been used again and is still a rare item. Would need clarification on that but im pretty sure its still rare. One of a kind no, as there are lots of them out there in museums [i say lots i dont mean 1000s i mean more than 1].

If the dragon your talking about is the "Crimson dragon event" "the six" no the val diamond wasnt used in that. The val diamond was from way way back and as far as i know has never been recreated.

I got 10 Amethysts off a Swordsman in Blackthorns this morning that don't stack with all my others. They look to me more like the sapphires in size but don't seem to match either color.



The stack of 9 is the sapphires, the 10 are the amethysts from today, and the 6 are normal amethysts.

Yeah since I posted I purchased a gem cart. The gems from the cart stack with the NPC ones. The bigger ones look far nicer for deco things.
