How long can acct be inactive now before housing decay sets in?

Due to financial constraints after a recent move, I'm leaving my account off for a month or so. But with all the changes to UO, I'm wondering how long it can safely be unpaid without losing my house/stuff. Any info would be awesome. Did some google-foo but saw too many conflicting answers. =/

I believe it is still 90 days of inactivity (+/- a day or two depending on the actual months you are in active).

It is said that it is 90 days, but I have seen that the house can go into decay a few days before that, so if I would say to be safe, try not to let it go inactive for more than 75-80 or so. But that is just me personally. I know people that go 85-90 days, but I hate taking risk like that.

Once a house begins decay, if the account is then restored to active status - can it then be "refreshed" out of decay, or is it too late at that point to keep it from falling?

It can be refreshed, after the account has been reactivated you just login and open the front door.. normally that is all it takes. On rare instances you might need to contact a GM to revert it (Have had that issue before)

oh.. and if its gone to OSI owned.... your SOL.

Just came back to re-read your clarification on refreshing a house that has begun decay and noticed your reference to "OSI owned"... What do you mean by that? Who's houses are owned by OSI?
Oh, one other thing... I have 4 accounts with a house on each, but my favorite 2 houses are on accounts with my least favorite chars.... I'd like to have my 2 favorite houses owned by my other 2 accounts... Can accounts "trade" houses? How can I do this pls...?

Open two game windows, trade houses. (Though myself, I'd consider using a one-month throwaway account as an intermediary.)

"Owned by OSI' is when there are vendors on the house with unclaimed property/gold. it changes the decay and essentially takes ownership away from the player and puts it on the game basically. it can also mean the house was a scripters and they are holding to manually delete the objectionable items inside. but i am not sure on that one

Its £10 quid a month FFS or cheaper in bulk, just stop with the finanical crap, loads of people try this, due to PLAYING OTHERS GAMES!!!!! and mess it up and boo hoo the house is gone, pay, or don't pay, you can't have both

Simple, if you want to keep your house/stuff pay for it, its not EA's concern if you have moved house is it?

It depends if you think "your" stuff is worth protecting

No need to open the door (plots usually don't have one), after one, two hours it should be back to autorefresh. So unless the house is already In Danger of Collapsing state it's usually enough to be patient, in that specific case, especially if you don't know the time it's already IDOC, you should find somebody to trade it to temporary. Can also be a second own account.

While an owned by OSI house is lost, coowners and friends can still take their stuff from secures and unlock what they did lock down.
