What's up with the Atlantic hardware upgrade that's clearly a downgrade?

Could this have been the daily server down happening late?
That used to happen a lot, the server down times were not as consistent as we have gotten used to them being.

I suspect there is something going on in the datacenter, because Great Lakes has been frequently pausing for lag spikes on a regular basis. Since Atlantic, Lake Superior, and Great Lakes all have a datacenter in common, I suspect the issue resides there.
Not sure where to place this tread so move it if needed but don't delete please.

Dear Devs. Atlantic is hands down the largest and most active shard. This being said I'm sure it's not only effecting pvpers but that's what I enjoy doing is pvp and the lag on this shard has become flat out ugly as of late.
Can you guys please get together and try to come up with a fix. I'm not sure what it take to do this but I'm willing to wait as are many others I'm sure but if possible drop us a line and at least say.... Hey we hear you and we will try to make this happen in a upcoming publish or something.
I feel that it may be a population/items issue as well because I can log onto Siege perilous and fly around with no lag at all so maybe a better clean up could also help as in deleting houses that are owned by osi and probably full to the T with duped items etc.
Anything to help out would be great and in all honesty it would be nice to move just as fast as the people in enhanced client I know some of you like it but a lot of us feel that the client is ugly and doesn't feel like UO.

Bleak is asking for feedback on the lag issues in this thread over in the Atlantic Forum. Please add to the conversation there.
Something to keep in mind - there's more to the net than your computer and the shard server... and the shard servers are scattered all over the net.
I fret, however, that the issue, as others have pointed out, may not be specific to Atlantic.
I've experienced lag on GL on some occasions of late as well, as have others. It's of the nothing happens, then suddenly the last few seconds of stuff all happens at once variety.

Last night there was a fight way north of yew gate on atl, probably roughly 11 people-ish. everyone in vent locked up for 5-10seconds. when we came back, none of us had taken any damage so we knew the other people locked up at the same time. i've been seeing this for a while, its definitely on the server/game end.
the only issue it really truely causes is if this happens when ur fighting a dexer or a monster, they don't stop swinging/punching/shooting at you during the lock up.

I doubt it's a house/number of items on server problem. I have the same issues quite often on Legends...
