As Claudia said, there have been these vendors used as paperdoll for presenting sewn or oldstyle exeptional armor etc. These disappeared between Monday or Tuesday last week - so that would give approximately the 7 days period to claim the inventory for the owner of the vendors. And after these 7 days were gone, the house was due to fall - and so it did.
(The only behavior unseen by me on Demolition Pending houses was the name change of the house back from Demolition Pending to its former name.)

Rumor has it.......

The Mayan Calendar was truly just for the UO idoc and all the experts had it wrong.

Bullwinkle and Rocky has all OSI control houses and decided when they drop.

Blizzard did it to make all the player base upset hoping to get all 10 of you. to sub for WoW.

The hamster died and caused it to fall.

The Atlantic revert somehow has caused idocs to go haywire.

and so on and so on......

Really? Because someone said Mesanna did it people actually believe it? Well I was told the Legion of Doom did it and had the Justice League captured so that is why it fell. Now that is truth! We all know the internet doesn't lie :p

Time to go to bed since I had a full night of Hardstyle dancing.

Happy new year all :) It's 2020. That what rumor has it though ......... lol

I cant sleep yet. Still all energized but you know strange things do happen......

Elvis did it!!

Could of been Oompa lommpas. They do exist. Its been proven....

http://now.msn.com/oompa-loompas-assault-goes-viral-among-weird-crimes

Oompa Loompas attack a man in the UK. No, really.

Random assaults by public mobs are scarier when they're dressed as Oompa Loompas, as we’re sure one Englishman can now attest. According to police, an unidentified man in Norwich was innocently exiting a kebab restaurant when four assailants -- two of whom wearing orange-painted faces, hooped tops, and green hair -- attacked him as he was leaving. The Willy Wonka-lovin' thugs left the poor 28-year-old with cuts and black eyes. Did they sing, "do-ba-dee-dee" as they ran off? [Source]

Now we can just wait for bigfoot to take the blame for it all I can stop this nonsense.

PS: Im just doing this because you all need to lighten up that is upset over this. It's a game :)

Mesanna is the ONLY person that can drop OSI houses, she told me via PM a while back, and YES you are free to place straight away as there is no timer (and abuse the game mechanics via 3rd party sites)
if it was loaded with rares I look forward to seeing a certain cheat listing them all on the rares collector section

lol welcome to the waste of time thst is uo osi idocs.....
She was probably confused as to what kind of house you were talking about, I've seen it before when she was asked a question along those lines at a EM meeting. The old ownerless ones confiscated which they cannot find with both hands yes only she can drop.

The alternative decay cycle is an entirely different issue that you can even test yourself with 2 accounts one of which you are letting close. You rent out vendors to yourself and can watch the entire process unfold and know all the secret timers no one else can see. However knowing how it works gives you no advantage at other owned by osi houses because you can't see those timers or which ones are rented.

Hello Claudia
Trust me she was not confused, she was standing next to me at an ISO castle while we watched suspected sripters................

What amazed me was she said she would look into the cheating, observe them and "promised" she would not drop the castle while they were watching...... early next day castle gone new house placed by one of the watchers (4+ weeks 24/7 watching, not illegal by anymeans, but thats another story)

So it proved one thing, Mesanna DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE about OSI status, or maybe its just not important enough

She did not reply to my further PM relating to WTF happened!!!!

and for the peoiple that want real rares to be deleted.......why would you want that?if that happened everytime there wouldnt be much of anything left in game, people come and go but some of those items that are 10 + years old are unreplaceable, even if you dont collect that crap(i dont),its part of the game that we play ,and take it away and you lose people(sure dont need that)

Everyone was assuming this house was under the alternative decay cycle which would have dropped the house today. The last vendors to come off that house came off on Xmas morning (EST). The real issue here is that the house was interfered with. It was obvious to those paying attention, the house was pulled out of "demo pending" and returned to its original name. I have never seen a normal IDOC, even under the alternative decay cycle, come out of demo pending without GM/Dev doing it. People can have their opinions, but once this house came out of demo pending it was never going to decay on its own... ever. The only way it was coming down was for Mesanna to drop it. The fact that she did drop it is all the more evidenced by the fact that there was no placement timer.

The real rub here is that she could have done it anytime she wanted. She had all weekend when vastly more people were around. She easily could have waited until Monday night primetime to do it... better yet she could have waited until the house sign was actually IDOC to come and do it. I was thre the last time it was IDOC... there were more people there than I have seen in UO in a single spot in years... yet Mesanna chooses a Monday afternoon when the house sign says fairly to come and drop it.

Kinda sad to think a GM would drop the house for any reason. I was not there. But last I checked it was fairly yesterday afternoon then this morning poof gone and another house in it place already for sale:confused: I have not heard from anyone in game that was there. Most of those camping it were new players or from other shards. Any rare items people got would be hard to sell now for much. Not that many people are playing. A few years ago yes not anymore.

and a nano second after it was demolished a plot was dropped in i wonder?

If so, well done to the lightning fast reactions......................

can someone let me know if the lucky winner grabbed chests onto the plot or just found him/herself under the house sign grabbing up goodies?

still hidden, or just standing under the sign?

did he/she talk to others, take the congrats from the "losers"

so many questions but i wonder what really happened there?
Did Mesanna stay to watch for foul play?

oh wait, thats in the past now, lets all move on and hope no one talks about that again, yes thats it, thats the way to deal with it, well done team......

more shinies for the fools that pay to play.... lets give them more artis so they forget about the problems here

If there was no foul play then pls accept my apologies and move on:)

So you are saying that "IF" ( because there is no proof but just pure speculation and she has not said she did or didn't) Mesanna did it on her own time and not the peoples time that it is an issue?

So what time should of she had done it then that would of benefit you or and some of the player base?

She not allowed to have a real life outside of the game especially during the holidays?

Should of she just say at the screen for days and days like others and count how many players then drop it when it reached a happy medium?

So she should of changed/given up her Near Years plans to satisfy the player base because it happened Monday afternoon?

No matter what time it would of dropped it would of been an issue. Others would of been complaining for various reasons. It's just pixels. Maybe there was some rares there. Some was saved and maybe some wasn't. In the end it's really not saving the game history but what they are worth by the player base as gold. Thats the true final issue with it all.

UO is about playing the game. Idoc's are part of that and I truly understand that. If this is so upsetting to some when it actually fell, no matter what time it did and because they feel "robbed" of not getting "free loot" that didn't belong to them yet is pure crazy. Plus if players spent their time just sitting there for days and days and missed out because real life was calling then it's definetly not Mesanna's fault or UO's fault. That is what the players chose to do with their time. Sometimes real life and virtual life does not work the way you want it.

In the end it would of dropped and players not happy when it did.

The best thing would to be to have left it alone until it had at least run through the ful decay cycle for the vendors to move from the house sign into the moving crate and be allowed to fall naturally.

Oh for heavens sake.. stop with the bloody clock and daggar thoughts... the house fell naturally due to game mechanics. If you dont know how the game mechanics work (Despite the fact several people has said both on here and on the shard) then thats your issue. It fell EXACTLY 7 day from when the last vendor dropped into the moving crate... and fell as I said it would to all on the shard (Although as always no-one listens because they prefer the cloak and daggar of GM's and DEV's dropping it manually yadda yadda yadda).

When ANY house has vendors that is RENTED and the hosue enters decay.. it will cycle though constantly till the vendors contract lapses at which point the vendor will drop into the moving crate.. the vendor owner then has 7 days to collect his/her items before the house will finally drop. If a house is OSI the decay status means NOTHING. This has always been the case (Unless the house is bugged in which case it dosnt drop and has to be done manually.. this WASNT the case with this house) and isnt a new thing, its been happening since we've been able to rent out vendors Any decent IDOC'r knows this timer and plans accordingly hence why I logged in about 10 minutes before it dropped and managed to bag a couple of rares.

To recap.. No GM or Dev dropped the house... Nor was it dropped to benefit a slight few. It dropped to normal game mechanics, which if you were ignorant of those mechanics then you've just learnt something.

So please stop with the stupid moaning about GM's benefiting their friends or Dev's interviening to stop server load (You get more people at big events and lets face it GL isnt exactly bustling with people like Atlantic.. so why would the server be under pressure??).

Thank you and good night!

Most constructive thing ive read in this thread.

This is kinda why I started collecting rares years ago. To me rare items are artifacts, or history; and remind me of a praticular time or place.. especially if I was there to recieve the item.

Mesanna did not do it. NO ONE from the devlopment side of EA will be at work until tommorrow at the earliest.
I did at two different times witness a GM pop in and do something with a vendor, and the other time i am not sure.

IMHO, someone paged and paged until a gm dropped it. The house was slightly worn when it fell, not idoc.
This means, it was dropped a GM. Only...ones avilable were the "elves"

the drop was total BS. For all of us who waited, and knew the "rules" was a bogus drop.

Your speaking rubbish SixUnder.. it dropped due to game mechanics and thats that. It fell exactly when I expected it to (7 days since the last vendor dropped into the vendor box) . If a GM turned up.. you wouldnt even see them! If you and the others are too ignorant of the game mechanics thats your issue.. just stop making rubbish up.

BTW it was fairly worn...

The only thing i can add is the "7 days after the vendors drop" is not when these houses fall. I can show you a house on origin that has been running through the entire cycle for months with no vendors standing. The house is empty except for a trash barrell and who knows how long its been going through the entire cycle before I found it. I just checked it and its back to somewhat worn "demo pending". Someone posted of a house on Sonoma thats been going through the cycle for over a year in that locked thread about changing IDOC's to auctions.

While i only checked the house on GL a couple of times I do not think any GM should have made any changes to the house in any form. I feel its wrong they deleted the vendors and changed the sign and then most likely dropped the house when it was still "Fairly Worn."

Just my 2 cents

Blood Ghoul.. I have already said that IF it dosnt fall exactly 7 days after the last vendor popped into the moving crate then it is BUGGED and will need to be removed manually.

and... OMG the GM's did NOTHING, the house and vendors acted like any other rented out vendor OSI's...

Seriously its the game mechanics.. and not some stupid plot by the GM's to hack every player off.. get over it, it didnt happen and never will!!

I'm sorry but if you believe that the GM's interfered and all this rubbish people are sprouting then your just plain stupid!! I dont mean that to be harsh but why believe something thats inprobable when the real reasoning is so much more simpler and likely? As in my earlier post, I've been doing IDOC's since 2003... I've been to a fair few OSI houses (Ok a few were bugged but not that many) and I've managed to loot the house before other people did because I KNEW the timings... Like I told everyone on GL when it would fall (But as always no-one would listen and prefers a pie in the sky story about GM's helping their friends yadda yadda).

Just accept the truth of the matter and stop this pointless speculation (Thats also unfounded btw)

Salivern, methinks thou dost protest too much. Perhaps it's because you are one of those "friends" who benifited from the drop or, better yet, you are the GM who dropped it, (using a nom de plume) and are trying to throw us off the scent. LOL, thought I'd take the conspiricy to the next level. Kidding aside I have no idea what did or didn't happen. Most of you have probably forgotten more about idocs than I know about them. However, it seems to me that a GM, or whomever , would have to be pretty much "out to lunch" to have chosen one of the most watched and high profile idocs in Sosaria to do something like this. They would have to know there would be blowback.

Whoops... i missed that part of your earlier post..so that is my bad.

I am not sure if they dropped the house or not. So that is just a pure shrug of the shoulders. But..I have never ever seen a house named get changed during the cycle like that one did and other players who were there stated "A GM was just here and deleted the vendors" Those are the only two points of info that sounds odd

Actually, depending on what other programs you have running, you can tell anytime a GM or EM or Dev is there. That's just a simple fact. It's also a fact that they also occasionally forget to turn on their invisibility.

When a house is dropped by a GM/Dev- it can be placed immediately. Because the house didn't 'fall' and trigger the script that causes that area to be protected.

I've been at OSI houses before that went OSI because of the vendors and once the house fell, was unable to place until the timer wore out (the last house I placed in Ter Mur is the latest example I have of that).

So, given my personal experience in doing IDOCs, I would say that this house was dropped and did not fall on it's down.

My experiences with Demolition Pending houses are, that placement was possible immediately after their fall. Have seen this on 3 other occasions, in which no GM was involved.
So I think all the talk about Mesanna or a GM taking the house down is only conspiration theory without hard nailed facts.

Let me say this, I am not saying it WAS a conspiracy, I wasn't there when it fell. I was there when it turned IDOC (it was like 2:15-2:20pm EST iirc), I was there when it went from IDOC to OSI. You will notice that I didn't mention the vendors because I didn't get what time they went. All I did was post about what I have first hand knowledge of.

It wasnt dropped by a GM, or if he/she did they dropped it at the exact time it should have dropped (like exactly 7 days or if you want to be pedantic 168 hours after the last vendor dropped into the moving crate).

But as thats unlikely as GM's DONT have the power to drop a house then its impossible that a GM did it. Neither did a Dev drop it as they were on their xmas break (There is more to life than UO and I'm sure the UO Dev's have more important things to concern then during the festive season).

As I've said 3 times already.. it dropped due to game mechanics.. end off.

The vendors were removed at 26 december around 2300 hours, in the night from wednesday to thursday. The house dropped long before the 7 days were up, namely on monday.

It was dropped by GMs.

You know, whatever.. make up your stories, believe whatever and cry to the moon...

It dosnt change the fact it fell whem most of us IDOC'rs who have been doing this for years expected it to. There was no help (GM's CANT drop houses btw... GM's cant do jack anymore other than throw you in jail, reset character stats and collect hidden/lost items.. thats it) especially as I'm sure the Devs HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO AT NEW YEARS EVEN THAN TO SIT AT A IDOC ON GL! You may not have a life outside of UO but plenty of us do (And as for IDOC'rs.. thats one of the reason we turn up 5-10mins before a house falls.. we time them and KNOW when its gonna fall.. not make up tales about someone dropping it for us.. shesh).

Dont tell me, you also think the moon is made of cheese and that we're really in a giant computer simulation.
