PvP shard?

News Flash: If you want to fight against 3 or 4 guilds, there is already a server to do that on. It is called Atlantic.

Auctually I would like to fight more than 3-4 guilds, but at leat with 3-4 guilds it is a starting point. Besides how many "PvP" guild on ATL auctually war eachother. MM won't because they are too busy doing EM events.

Lynk it is OKay you think it is stupid. Infact I expected you not to like it since it would have fighting away from Yew Gate. I don't know the last time I have seen you do anything except trash fight at the gate. But beleive it or not there are some people who like to PvP AWAY from Yew.

Most of the PKs are long gone. The easy targets are too hard to find. PvPers really only want to win for the most part and are j7ust one half step above PKers... They seldom want to fight each other. Most just want to kill easy prey. *shrugs* We are not all so easy to find and kill now.

As Kelmo said, we only want the ones, who like our rules and setup. This thread is not about Siege but someone trying to get at least one normal shard with more PvP players

I think the players suggested descriptions, then voted on the one to use for each shard many years ago. I remember Europa's one. Siege's one is very.. odd though. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue for one, and kinda insulting for another, but that must be what they picked

I think people saw the title of the thread and assumed it was asking for another shard with another rules set. That's the context within which Siege usually gets mentioned.

But that wasn't the point of the thread.

I have my own issues with the idea and I've made those clear, with the expected response.

I agree with Tina here. Origin is the first real shard to get new material and changes. It would be awesome if PvPers would try out the new stuff before it goes live across the board.

With some effort and organization it could be a monumental thing and perhaps a game changer.

Ummm...why not Origin? That way you all have established characters the next time there is PvP content that needs to be tested? I know there are people on Origin who would be willing to help out with providing basic gear to get people going and housing space in Felucca shouldn't be an issue.

I betcha Lady Storm could dig up power scrolls, stat scrolls, arties, etc.

1) You call insurance a crutch yet last time I heard all Siege pvpers have a silly code where they place looted suits/items on their vendors so that the person they killed can buy them back asap. That doesnt sound very perilous to me lol.

2) Ease up on the trashtalking issue bud. Siege people are the ones always hopping into other peoples threads to promote their shard off topic. There would be no trashtalking if they did not constantly do this. You wanna hop into my pvp thread to do nothing other then beg for new players on your shard? If I didn't have a completely useless character on siege I'd walk around for a few days looking for the one soul wandering outside guard zone to kill..but other then that I don't see a point in spending time and effort creating a character to get a fight maybe once a month

Long story short, siege is set up horribly. Pairing pre aos rules with an aos rule set. Nothing about it makes sense.

This is aos, on top of it having only one character, I don't want to limit my templates and creativity because you can't insure an item. There are a hand full of us that like playing templates that are different from cookie cutter ones, and having a certain piece that it's built around is the only way that can be done.

I played pre aos and its not the loss of gear that bothers anyone. However I would rather it be all or nothing. Either like it was on OSI during pub 16, or how it is now. Siege is pretty much a cross between that, and it's stupid. That's why a fair amount of people have no interest in it, amongst other reasons. Low population, one character, having to give up your house, ect ect.

Sorry siege players if it was a big hit that shard would be booming, and the proof isn't in the pudding.

And this is helping to build the community how? Good job KELMOD. Way to single handedly trash your own server by telling people we don't want them playing. Just cause you don't Like PvP and PKs doesn't mean others don't. God damn.

That's not how I read it.
Players who are strongly item-dependent would not thrive on Siege, because they can't guarantee keeping their items. Siege needs players who are sufficiently confident in their playing ability that they don't need the very, very best kit.
It would be advantageous all around if players had viable pvp characters on Origin, where they could adequately test upcoming changes before they hit their main shard, even if they only played that shard part time.

Im sorry but i cant believe you are actually telling people to not come to siege. Kelmo you dont speak for siege, we do to want others to try siege and see thats its nothing like you say it is. Most of all you are incorrect siege does have pvp, it may not be the answer some poeple, but it is the answer for many. Kelmo your trying to hard to discredit the shard, your doing more damage with these statements then the siege bashers are.

Some people only read what they want to read. I have explained my stance that Siege is not a PvP shard because that is a limiting description that is not accurate. Siege is so much more than merely a "PvP" shard and calling it such does the shard a great dis service. No where did I say do not play Siege. Read the words that I wrote. Do not add any meaning to them that is not there.

I am not going to apologize for my statements as they are my opinion. I am not trying to discredit the shard. I am not trashing Siege perilous. I do not understand how my words are being twisted and perceived by a couple of players as such.

I have explained all of this before. Everyone knows how I feel about Siege.

If someone should want to try out Siege, ask in Gen chat for a leader of the guild Newborn on Siege, NEW2, we will help with start gear and the tag will give you some protection vs PK's. It may not stop them from killing you but most won't loot you and will rez again if they can.
NEW2 is Sieges Young system, it's player runned supported of the shard.

Is this something people would be interested in or not. I haven't received any names/guilds of people who would be interested, but maybe my post was drowned out by all of the SP posts.

I think the OP has a great idea.

It's pretty simple to understand. All he is asking just for other PvP guilds that really want to thrive at PvP and not be on a crowded shard (Atlantic) with plenty of housing.

Remind me if I am wrong since it's been a while, but isn't Chessy or Great Lakes that has some great PvP besides Atlantic? This would be a great time for any shard that is lacking in PvP fights to take advanatge of this thread and bring in some new blood to their shard and some better PvP fights. Promote your shard here ----->

If Guilds that did move to a particular shard, the existing guilds could help with showing them some great housing spots for the guilds and their members coming to be close to each other. Truly would make a better PvP community by working together and getting to know each other and to fight each other in the long run.

Making new friends and enemies is always a good thing when it's comes to gaming as long as its a healthy community Can always hold great events for both PvP and Tram events to show shard support.

I wish you luck on your idea and hope to hear of good things that come from it.
