Use different robe types for future artifacts

Reality is that if a clothing slot gets a clothing piece with stats on it, people will want to equip a piece with stats there over a clothing item which may look prettier (or no clothing piece at all). So nowadays nearly everyone is running around in either a regular robe or a hooded shroud, unless gargoyle of course.

But wouldn't it be nice if future artifact robes would use different types of robes? There are so many robe slot items. Dresses, Fancy Dresses, Kimonos, Gilded Dresses, Arcane Robes, and some other Japanese things with strange names but fancy looks. That way there would be a lot more diversity in our character appearance.

Can also release artifacts in two variants. Common version = regular robe, Rare version = Dress (or any other robe type). That way male players aren't bothered with the feminine robes.

I'd personally LOVE a fancy dress with stats on it. Or the japanse robe with the giant shoulders.

PS: Please be so kind to fix the missing graphics for arcane cloak and gilded dress.

There are many robes with stats on them for people to use, the garb being the most popular.

Talking about the arcane, looks and new. Add in future garb in those slots with the ability to be charged up with arcane gems. A 120 luck 5DCI garb that can be arcane charged. Wouldn't put out anything out that doesn't use the current arcane slots. Robe, cloak, footwear and gloves. Some future arty drop gloves with some mods and the ability to charge up.

If I got my way you could.

I want to be able to alter an item. Take the item and change it to anything else for that slot. It retains all the same properties so you can't make something Medable that isn't Medable but... You can take that seriously hideous Mempo and make it a nice gorget.

Just my opinion would fix all the gargish problems and everything .... would make anything usable by anyone.

We'll never get this. I would like to think that it's due to some factor we haven't thought of.

Last time I proposed this someone posted a picture of an Easy Button....Still not sure what that had to do with the proposal.

At any rate, I for one think it'd be a superb idea if they started to offer either entirely new items with different properties in all of the non-traditional slots (belt/apron; robe/dress; boots/sandals; etc.) or even started offering the same items but with different graphics as consistent drops. (For example, you can't get a Conjurer's Garb with Luck anymore but as a rare drop from, say, the Stygian Dragon you could get a Conjurer's Dress with the same properties, or a Conjurer's Hooded Robe. You can't get a Cloak of Life [robe slot] without having some Threads hanging around, but you can get a Hooded Robe of Life from, say, the Slasher of Veils or a Plain Dress of Life from, say, Medusa and Lady Melisande.

Items that no longer drop you can still at least get the properties of, and the original versions maintain some kind of value. And for items that still drop, really what difference does it make if, say, the Lt. Guard Sash sometimes drops as a Lt. Guard Surcoat or Cogrul's Sash sometimes drops as a Corgul's Tunic.

In LotRO they have separate slots for the stat items and for the visible outfit. So you could wear protective, but ugly armor, but showing up in your newbie clothes or what ever you think is looking great.

Then there is the issue with every template having that cookie cutter must have combination of gear with a few custom crafted pieces. I think there needs to be some "human only" tags put to some the gear. Human, Elf or Gargoyle with the scribe mage weaver template shouldn't have the same block of arty for their suits.

But some of those robe types are extremely ugly. My characters would never be seen running around in some of those... not to mention Gargoyles can't wear anything BUT a regular robe.... and their own fancy ugly thing.

Some can only be worn by males.... some females... The hooded Elven robe is ok but it's already been used on some things and most unfairly Gargoyles CAN'T wear them.... I wanted my Gargoyle to wear the +10 stealth robe we got from the EM's..... but he can't.

Hence my saying that this crap ought to be alterable.... If I could alter stuff I could wear what I liked not what I had to. And you wouldn't see 60 people at an event all dressed 100% identical.... in the conjerers garb and a Tangle/Crimmy with some sort of glasses.... or a hat of the magi.... You look around at any event and at least 90% of the people "native" to the shard are wearing exactly that. NO more do guilds wear colors or uniforms because everyone is covered head to toe in a stinking robe and apron.

Wearables Retouching tool for sale at the store or new BOD reward. Make all robe and cloak slot items have a toggle option seen or not for the avatar and paperdoll. But still seen in the icon slot for that space. I miss the UOAssist ability to autdress right out of containers. Helps when characters share items of rareity. Just don't waste my time even digging the cloaks and robes out for most characters. Really most are not that big game changer from what is on armor. Either killing something alone or getting looting rights with the group. Leave the powergaming soloing bosses needing to look fugly. Still like to see load of items altered ability. Just hats - mask - glasses crossover would be enough. Could have wearable slot bonding. Where a robe slot item is combined to an arms slot item forever. As long as bonded sleeves are worn nothing can be worn in robe slot. Same could be done with the cloak and chest slot. Have no issue bonding my luck robe with AoF. Just have to have both blessed or both cursed added before bonding. Or one cursed overrides everything else. And non blessed overrides/wipes blessed when bonding.

Honestly having some sort of show no show on the robe would be nice. A way to make them invisible.

Some people swore the team themselves mentioned this possibility in the Virgina anniversary event. (I think Petra may have stated she recalled it.)

But it was neither in any recording I saw or listened to nor any transcript I read. So I have no idea what specifically they may be thinking of.
