Honestly never played any Ultima game before I started down this long Ultima Online adventure many moons ago.

Although I did beat an Ultima that was on the original Nintendo, not sure if that was based on one of the PC games or not. (OK, I looked it up and had a major childhood flashback...it was Ultima 3.)

i started at ultima 2 on com64
ultima 3 was a breakthrough and an awesome game so i would have to pick that one.
after that i went back to ultima 1 (Akalabeth) or was that one a pre-ultima?
I should still have the box + disks for those somewhere ...

Akalabeth is generally known as Ultima Zero. It is not Ultima I.

The good thing about the ones on GOG is that they all run in Dosbox and work well even on a modern computer.

My love of All things Ultima started with VII. It was the third computer game I ever played in my life, the first I could play as a female and the first I played start to finish. I still own it and have pulled it out from time to time. It runs great with Dosbox.

I started in Ultima. You know Ultima 1. Been playing ever since. One thing I loved was the game always seemed to be on the very cutting edge of technology.

For story and mechanics I have always found Quest of the Avatar to be absolutely fascinating. To this day I wish we had a Hawkwind somewhere in UO.

Ultima VII part 1 and 2 to this day I class as the best RPG games all time....Love'd it

Going into the towns and robbing shops at night, had to make sure Iolo wasnt in my party at the time though...he was never that forgiving of my stealing.

I started with Aklabeth. I have played all the games. I wish I still had all my game boxes and such. Unfortunately, I just have the stuff from Pagan. I have the pentagram medallion and some other stuff. I miss the old games. a few years ago I purchased the Ultima collection. I think it has everything from 1 - 9. You had to slow the cpu down to play any of the games. I don't think you can slow current computers down enough to play them though.

The stuff from GOG.com runs in DOSBOX and it is already preset for appropriate speeds. They run smoothly (well - as smooth as it did back in the 80's).

Thanks, Tazar! I used to run MoSlo since it came with the games but it stopped working at some point.
