Found these (along with that hideous Todd Macfarlane figurine thingy... Heh...)

Is there a market for these? Anyone collect them? Have the original box for UO from 1997 also (with the ridiculous $80 price tag still on it!)

Cloth Ultima maps do quite well on Ebay. I spent a few weeks myself collecting older maps (was able to find my UO map luckily, but haven't re-found the pin yet). Generally the maps seem to be going or add $20-40 to the price of the game package for the Ultima Prime series, and I was priced out of contention on a UO Map and pin a while back at above $50. For the older games like 4, 5, or 7, having the metal Ankh or medallions as well can add $100 or more to the price. Classic game collecting is a fairly active market from what I've been watching.

And FYI, U4E maps have fetched $200+ being pre-release items in VERY limited quantities last I saw.

I have a cloth map from around 2000 that is signed by many of the devs and a couple gms. This was back when Origin was still in Austin and they did meetups all the time. They did an event at Texas Renaissance Fair and I was there. They did a trivia contest and I got a question right so they gave me the signed map.

I love the letter from Lord British announcing the emergence of Ultima Online. It's framed. :) I think I'm going to redo it and put the map, letter and Ankh in one nice frame.

I miss the old days when games had huge books called manuals, let alone cloth maps. I no longer hate PDFs the way I once did, but it's always nice to have something tangible you can study. I loved my UO: T2A manual.

Wow! I gotta hit auctions sights more often. That's one heck of a deal. It almost sounds like a "we're divorcing and I'm gonna get you where it hurts" kinda deal. I had a friend who sold an entire garage worth of Craftsman tools including the big red chest for $1.

Absolutely. The two or three page pamphlet you get now just SUCKS in comparison to the instruction books you got back "in the day". I remember reading and re-reading the books that came with the old 8 bit Nintendo games, Ultimas 6 and 7, and others. Now you have to spend three figures for the "Collector's Edition" of anything to get anything beyond an install disc, small print health warnings, and a "Limited Warranty" that I doubt ANYONE has ever used in the 30 years I've been playing home video games.
