Before finding out that customizing your house causes issues with your items I ended up losing two Medusa statues on my porch, I accept that as my fault for not regularly checking UHALL but my house was different. After I finished customizing my house nothing was under the house sign, but the statues vanished this morning. I was going though ideas of were they could have gone and what could have happened and after customizing my house again a second time to see if they'd re-spawn my house sign completely disappeared. I cannot re-size, I cannot access or edit in any way. I'm not 100% sure if the character even still owns the house.

Just want to add, after losing the statues I axed and took all my items out before customizing my house again to see if I couldn't find the statues that way.

It seems like I read in someone post that even items that were not being moved by the housing bug had the potential to get unlocked... possible your statues simply became unlocked and decayed after a few hours....

Yup, my friend just mentioned that, that might have been what happened. So, I hope that my bug of the disappearing house sign can perhaps solve the issue that's going on or at least prevent it from happening to anyone else.

If items are locked down on the stairs, they usually go into the moving crate if you go into customize mode. Did you check if they sit there?

I suggest the OP page a GM about the missing house sign and check his moving crate for the statues when he can.

Why not make it simple and just post them to the client where they post the patch notes as Rumpy suggests. People should not have to go looking for important info, it should be displayed where EVERYONE can see it without having to go looking through the internet 24/7.

People should not need to go looking through loads of pages/sites EVERY time they want to log in and do something. Even uo.com does not display some of the information thats posted to here or other sites.

Straight to the log in client would be much simpler for all concerned.

With something as bad as this (bug wise) they should definitely of added a popup when you login (similar to vet reward one maybe).

I can't understand why they don't just disable the ability for players to enter custom mode for the time being if there is issues with it.

I've been moving all my stuff to the bank boxes just in case.

Items at the stairs will not go under house sign - but stay where they are. (they are not 'inside' the house - just at the house property).

Items at the stairs will definitively go into the moving crate, as long as you did not lift them up with interior decorator.
Just yesterday made a plot on ice, locked down some leather on stairs, customized plot and had to get the leather out of the moving crate.

Just to update: I did check the moving crate, was one of the first things I checked and they weren't anywhere to be found in there. The server up didn't bring back the house sign either still missing, but In the process of paging another GM cross your fingers!

First I want to tell everyone I am really sorry we caused this issue with the changes we made in Pub 80. We could not revert because it was way to late to do that. I would love to be able to say I will replace all lost items but everyone knows I can not do that. What I will do is replace items I can verify. As far as your house sign disappearing,thats not good! I will have to come look at the house. If I can verify the items please email me and I will try my best. Again I am sorry, we are looking at another way to notify you guys of issues like this in game in the future.

My son had a house issue as well but no items were involved. Just gold. He is trying to move houses and had heard me mention the issues. But he thought since he didn't have much left in the house it would be no big deal to start taking down a floor or two. He got one floor demolished and realized it was a little buggy so he stopped. It said he was refunded the money but nothing went to his bank.
He is waiting for the rest of the house until this is all fixed.

MOTD (Message Of The Day) for System and General Chat as a header upon log in. In City of Heroes (may it rest in peace) the Mods of the channel could set it; I uploaded a video of CoH here, where you can see 3 different MOTD set... but if that proves too hard, have a unique channel for Notifications, and just have a scripted character repeating messages in it every 5 minutes, "UO Bot: Please do not move your mouse until further notice." And add the message to the Town Criers too. Inform the EMs of every shard to occasionally pass it on when they are in game; their responses always have a higher notice rate.

What is with the retrieve command when you click on a locked down item? Did we need
this feature and does it have anything to do with the housing issues? I did notice that my
bulletin board I had locked down on my outside castle wall months ago was in the moving crate. In my
humble opinion it seems the few minor changes made to house in Pub 80 sure created one heck
of a huge bug that not even bug spray can kill.:whip: But not sure if there were any benefits from
them. (Goes back to reread publish notes)

Another refugee from Paragon City chiming in here... yes, the MOTD and Admin channels were very, very helpful in getting the word out far and fast. The trick is not to overuse them for krep so players don't get in the habit of tuning them out.

Not before every login but I think most of us probably log in for stretches of a few hours at a time, not counting switching characters periodically.

Well I for one am a bit mad I've lost 3 soulstones(that I know of) I don't know which skills were on them and to me that doesn't matter I've lost probably 40-50$ or whatever and that really sucks I didn't kno about the housing bug until after I stupidly redid my house I went through it and didn't see anything missing except for a few small things like hedge goblins and statues things that usually go to moving crates but unfortunately I forgot to update expiration of cc and the account was suspended for 2 days due to my lack of care ATM it's just a second account to transfer items and blah blah and just to hold house but when I deactivated today my moving crate was empty of any of the above items so after searching every bag in the house etc it's confirmed and they are gone..GJ!! Thanks for the ******** publish

In case no one has noticed, the message from UO.com saying that the issue has been fixed has been removed.

At minimum this means the issue is now further confused.

At maximum this means the issue remains unfixed.

Either is bad, and what's worst is the uncertainty created.

And on a personal note....Yes, I now know I look like an idiot. Not the first time.
