Greetings!

We will be bringing all the shards offline today, at 3:30 pm EST (20:30 GMT) to apply the following hot fixes:
  • Buff/Debuff icons should properly be removed from hot bars now
  • You can no longer retrieve a house trash can
  • All vendors will now be replaced after customizing your house
  • Reforging should work properly now
  • Items will not be rejected from your house any longer when you customize
At this time we anticipate that the shards will be back online no later than 5:30 pm EST (22:30 GMT).

Um what does this mean? Reforging is not working correctly or it never has or the team is actually giving us some information on how it works. Wait it was bugged and now it's fixed?

Probably just a duh moment and unimportant but what does this mean? Will I not be able to place the trash can in my house? Or can I not move it from room to room as I clean out different floors? :confused:

This is just speculation, but before the patch went live, there was some discussion amongst people I know if the Retrieve function would allow intense levels of duping; as the mechanism that created a single deed that contained potentially up to 125 items would be an obvious target... I don't know anyone who deliberately dupes, and none of us came across a bug we didn't report, but the concern was there; we simply maintained faith that the Devs had seen the obvious potential too and had taken actions to prevent it. Since the sudden Hot Fix we've talked about it some more, and a friend pointed me to that same line and pointed out that, if there was some way to retrieve it whilst carrying items, there was a potential to dupe infinite Spring Cleaning points if it could be broken somehow. Elsewhere in the earlier patch announcements one of the things they fixed was items already deleted maintaining lock downs, so the Trash mechanic clearly had a bit of further wobbly-room... and it's my guess that someone might have leveraged that right open. Again though, I've heard nothing definite, but a sudden disconnection of the servers world wide indicates it was a pretty serious issue...

And I'd just been donated some Void Lobster bait to go test for sure if that was genuinely fixed too... hurry back on servers, I want a 12/12/2012 Void Lobster!

I assume the trash can behaved like other containers and could be converted to the new container transport thing keeping the things inside.

My presumption about the trash-can line is that people were able to use the new Retrieve context command to, you know, retrieve a garbage can. IE: pick up and walk off with a gray barrel that is not actually available elsewhere in the game. I don't know for certain, but that would be my best guess.

While on the topic of trash cans, would be nice if we could have an "empty now" option. It would fit right under the appraise for clean up points option. Would really be nice when throwing away a lot of items. To not have to wait for the timer or haul it all to the bank trash.

Add another problem: You can't transfer off shards to others right now. Again! (with transfer shields)

I was on my tour around some shards, and now (after being stuck on Origin) I am now on Legends and can't leave to other shards (Atlantic, Europa, Asuka etc.)! Again!

Hello, please, Devs?! Can you fix this, it's really getting old!

An issue with items being unobtainable once placed inside the Sacrificial Altar has been corrected
This issue has not been corrected with publish 80, in fact it is worse. I can no longer 'open' the alter and put stuff in and take it back out as it won't actually 'let you' put stuff into the alter gump when it is open. The only way I have found to put stuff in the alter is to target a small section on one side of it on screen, you get the message about "this item will be deleted in 3 minutes" yet when you open the alter to see the item it is not there.

Anyone else having this issue?

Is the same problem using the EC in default and in Pinko's

You can no longer retrieve a house trash can? Went on line just now to check it and ..

After placing a tree in the trash barrel, I demolished it iwith an axe, and the tree appeared on the ground.
Then I went to another spot in the house and said, "I wish to place a trash barrel here" .. and immediately the gray barrel appeared.
I clicked once on the barrel and got "Set security/Appraise for clean up" options. Double click the barrel to retrieve any items.

So no changes yet? And I don't see any bugs with it at all. Am I missing something. :confused:

Retrieving is a separate mechanic introduced with the last Patchageddon, right click any already locked down item, and under Security Settings you'll see Retrieve as a new option. It was application of that to trash barrels which has been removed, not the Trash Barrel itself ...

Remember, this publish brought with it the Retrieve command (new context menu command). As I stated earlier, I believe this line indicates that initially the "Retrieve" command appeared on trash cans, and no longer does.

Retrieve, just for those who don't recall, is the new context command that at once unlocks and places in your backpack any item you "retrieve" using the command. Thus you no longer have to worry about unlocking something first and fearing someone might swipe it. The new Retrieve command both unlocks and picks up the object in one command.

I'm in EC+Pinco, and I can access mine; mine is in an illegal position now though, in that it's set into the wall between a chest and a forge (It's the image on UOGUide in fact) it wouldn't normally fit between, having moved it there with the house tool. Not sure if that would be a factor however...

Standing right next to it, open the gump by double clicking the alter, try to put something in it just doesn't go. Dump something on top it goes in but as soon as you dble click to open it the item is gone.

The sacrificial altar has two pieces. The issue that was corrected related to losing items that were placed in one piece of the altar, due to the fact that when you'd double click to access the altar you'd open the container portion of the other half, which didn't contain the item you just dropped into it. The fix basically made it so that one and only one half of the altar should function (the alternative was to completely re-script the functionality of the altar). Try chopping and redeeding the altar to see if that corrects the issue.

Just because I'm still giggling that I saw this I had to point it out, I think it's supposed to be "due". :p
