How the heck am I supposed to retrieve an old account?!?!?!?!?!!! The new setup is just running me in circles. Been trying for the last hour!

This is why this game is dead... Maybe you guys just don't care!

Whatis a Mythic account,a nd what is an EA account. Why can't you go to uo.com put in your acct name and put "forgot password" and go from there?!!?? What is all this other crap!!!!?????

I know the account migration is confusing at first. It certainly was for me. But once you get past that... well, the game is ever-evolving and definitely worth returning to. It's still the best "sand box" out there (in my opinion).

Just like UO..... It had to be made overly complicated. So even with something that should be as simple as account management,you have 100 diff steps to get to the same 3 step conclusion.

For those who don't want to be beaten in coming back, the problem most people run into (and I did too) when I tried to add my old UO account to the new system is that it needs to be "account name_UO", that is you personally have to add _uo to the end of it first, or it won't be recognised. Very silly they don't explain this obviously anywhere, and I had to find that from Stratics, but there you go.

And then 2 years into a new sub it suddenly rejected my debit card despite nothing changing... But check the Origin store, as gamecards are so much cheaper anyway. So er... thanks for forcing me to save money I guess!

Aye im sure the new account system was developed by a 12 year old. You have to ask your self why the frack did they make it so dammed complicated in the first place, when the old system was so easy.

Oh I won't deny that the Account Management System is likely the most ill thought out poorly contrived Steaming Pile of _____ on the planet... And I don't know one single person that "likes" it or hasn't had some trouble with it in some form or another.... but it's NOT something that the UO DEV's did... it was EA. Which in my opinion is still trying desperately to drive away every UO player so they can call it a loss and shut it down... however we won't go. Like buzzards on a corpse we don't want to be removed. Some old returnee's remind me of buzzards as well..... they keep circling and circling come in to land for awhile and then timidly fly up and circle again as soon as they perceive some new fresher corpse. Only to return to the old whale that is UO.

Yes its a pain in the arse and can be very very confusing, if not a pure patience blower too. But as was said above the game is well worth coming back to!

The big concern should be, how many potential new EA customers looking for a new online game, run into that travesty of a billing system, and after a laugh, move on to the next non-EA game on their list?

Well starting a new account is easy it's just merging 2 old ones that's a song and dance..and the random drops in payments is quite a headache sometimes one was my fault for not updating new expiration dates other was just weird..

I have to admit the system is one of the hardest to try to reactivate an old game account in any game I play. When it came to UO it was so simple to come back when you wanted by the old way to do it.

Did the system need updated? Yes

Did it have to be so complicated? No

By EA's perspective it is easier for DaoC, War, and UO to be on the same system and more cost effective. EA accountants and execs wont see how many possible $$$$$ they lose because they do not read these boards. The devs job is to listen to the community and adding content to the game. So it kind of falls on deaf ears. I would suggest it be easier to contact customer service and make a complaint. Maybe if they see enough complaints coming and seeing how much $$$$$ they are losing they may try to make it easier. Until then the system will not change.
