My FC/FCR Samp Suit

Deception

Here's something a little different that i felt like sharing with all of you. I run 4/6 casting and a bit of MR with 120 chiv on my samp. I also run 120 parry, so no shield for this suit. Having to use orni on a samp suit makes it very tight to fit in everything you'd want.

my suit.png

Here are my stats with and without str/agi pots.

my char.png

And my normal weapon. There's room for another mod, haven't decided what to use for sure though.

my wep.png

I run divine fury constantly, and my suit is built for that.

Numbers in parenthesis are with divine fury and vampiric embrace:

70/95/70/71/72
4/6 casting - 1fc on weapon
30 (45) HCI
55 (45) DCI
55 (75) DI - 100 with 25 off wep
5 (20) SSI
42 LMC
10 (13) MR
25 HP
53 Stam
67 Mana

Let me know what you guys think. About 300 million gold and several weeks worth of crafting went into the 6 heartwood pieces alone. I'm pretty proud of it. My crafter went from 0 to about 30,000 clean up points from trashing armor that didn't make with the right base resists. Each piece is worth less than 1 point.:eyes:

I can see the pics fine. It's a re-forged, imbued suit of woodland armor

Maybe because you have more rights than anyone else?

Using the image link I get:

You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

(I don't see the pictures either)

Why would you run a suit/template like this? Any benefits over more standard sampire setups?

It's a different play style. I like having more control of my character. Some of the benefits are:
-Around 40 hp heals in .5 sec when I'm in a bind
-Large stat bonuses from divine fury (15 SSI, 15 HCI, 20 DI, -10 DCI)
-I never have to sit around and wait for a stamina leech to occur
-Remove curse is quick whenever I need it
-nearly instant cure when something inflicts me with lvl 6 poison

I think of my character as more of a chiv warrior than a "sampire". Of course I don't cast anything when I don't need it, IE no heals when I'm leeching just fine, but it's great to have the options available. I'm not useless against creatures that you can't leech from such as Exodus, And although I don't do any field pvp, this char is very viable in a dueling situation.

As far as the MR goes - you can get in a bind if you're fighting something even as simple as an irk without it. Say you are using a physical damage wep, and get mana drained. You could hardly do any damage against the high physical resist, meaning you wouldn't be leeching hardly anything at all. You would be a sitting duck until you regain the mana needed to cast CW or AI. A sampire doing low damage dies quick.

Exactly which is why I always favor an elemental weapon even if you have a weapon with AI on it plus MR on the suit. Doesn't matter what template you play in UO once you run out of mana your in deep waters.

You suit build presents an interesting approach that's for sure. I wouldn't mind trying out a suit like that to test the limits and see what weaknesses it may have. I'm not seeing any weaknesses or deficiencies in the build albiet different.

Now the question is can you stand toe to toe with Rend and fell the beast in that suit? How about Meraktus?

How many enhancing tools did you go through to build this? It's a very nice suit, I'd love to have some of those woodland stuffs for myself:drool:

I burnt around 40 charges i believe. Got lucky on every piece except the helm and tunic. Each piece took less than 4 tries except for those 2, which took 10+ each. I did get some nice pieces for resale along the way though.

Well I went and tried out a rend tonight. My buddy Madrid went with me to watch. He lured him out to the entrance and I got started. Stood toe to toe with him the whole fight, took him down on first try. It did get a little hairy here and there, but with swapping over to a feint weapon and using my 4/6 heals, I was able to survive. I feel that without the 4/6 casting, I would not have been able to stand through the several fire breath dumps. Also I did this fight without potion buffing, totally just because I forgot.

As a side note, I didn't use a slayer weapon here. Just the bladed staff posted in the OP and a leafblade of ease with hsl/hml/hld/fc/dci/di. The leaf was never in my hand for more than a swing, just long enough to get a feint in.

Unless I'm guessing wrong on how you did this...Craft, reforge, PoF to 255 dura, Imbue, then enhance...you'd really have to get lucky with the heartwood enhance for it to give you the property you need or this would really be a money sink...Damn lol. Nice suit though.

Im interested in making a similar set up to this for solo spawning, certainly want it to be 4/6 casting sampire with 120 chiv. Just conflicted over how the best way to go around fitting in parry and resist magic somehow.

was thinking something like this

120 weapon skill
120 Bushido
120 Chivalry
120 Tactics
100 necro
80 Resists
60 Parry

or go with 100 tactics/100 resists/60 parry

Not entirely convinced that I would need 120 parry for champ spawning, considering ill be 4/6 casting. Can anyone give me some helpfull advice? Need to decide which is more beneficial out of the two for spawning.. cheers

By the way love the suit and your thinking Deception.. You have inspired the Paladin in me..

It is a neat suit. I saw Nergal in Luna one day (without realizing it was him) and saw what appeared to me at the time to be a very unique sampire suit. Of course he was on a Charger of the Fallen at the time so I was confused about how he used the character without a swamp dragon. Now I see that was just a temporary mount. I find his headgear the most interesting choice since most everyone runs with Mace and Shield Glasses for the HLD. I typically use HSL on all my weapons and choose not to run Divine Fury. We will see how Pub 81 affects stamina and whether Divine Fury is sufficient.

IMO, you will not find sufficient benefit in 80 resisting spells. I run two sampire variants: one with 120 resist and the other with 120 bush & 120 parry. I like the bush/parry tank for things like Navrey because I can outlast her webbing without getting hit often. My resist char typically dies while webbed. The resist char is far superior against necro casting mobs such as Primeval Lich, Undead Champ Spawn, etc. Blood Oath is the bane of a warrior without adequate resisting spells. So to answer you question I would try something like this if you are wed to 120 chiv and must also have resist:

120 Weapon
120 Chivalry
120 Resist
120 Bushido
100 Tactics
99 Necro
60 Parry

This will require +19 skill points which you can divide across two mods on your ring/bracelet. You could also try running with 100 Bushido if you never use momentum strike or lightning strike. Perfection will still max out (though it requires a few extra swings) with 100 bushido. That would save your skill points on your jewelry so you can use an Orny without too much complication, but you loose out on the 300 skill points required for the -10 mana reduction on special moves.

Again, interesting setup and a nice diversion from the regular sampire suit and templates.

I've been using your suit as something of a reference for my own suit. So I wanted to say thanks for putting it up here! :)

I created a similar suit, and playing around with 55dci vs 0 dci, its definitely better to have 55dci. With the new stamina changes, not getting hit is going to be the only way to keep your stam up. I was hoping with 0 dci to be able to proc a parry and thus use counter-attack more often, but it definitely doesnt work. I also put on 45 hci instead of 30 so that even the 1 or 2 hits without divine fury, im still hitting at max hci. over all same stats but resists are 70/70/70/70/75. might have a little less mana cuz i use CC instead of tangle. I love the versatility with 4/6 casting and counter-attack. The only problem is 40 anat compared to 100 translates to less damage, and maxing out damage output i think is key with the 100% mana leech wep. I also use a slayer fc1 HLD weap which really helps me get to the dmg cap.
