The point is that we should be able to use them without using up lockdowns... And store them in a single stack. Object handles and placing items on top of carpet are separate issue that should be addressed regardless.
Agree 100%, having done my holiday trading I have about 800 or so of both types.
I make the assumption that the reason for giving grass and snow tiles was for those of us who like to deco. Also as a concession to those with classic houses that do NOT have the ability to customize and to produce snowy and grassed areas.
Right now the options are:
* gozas (don't stack but take NO lockdowns when in use, can have deeded items placed on them and may be raised to glorious heights for fantastic deco use, do not highlight yellow on every tile). So basically I use them and throw them away when not in use. Can be done as you can craft more later if you want to.
Or
* carpets (stack and do not take lockdowns, highlight yellow on every tile *yuk*, have issues with
some items when placed ie I had to remove carpet to get teleport tiles to work, cannot be raised so limited to floor use only, easy to accidentally un-click and decay) I will store them if not using as they do stack.
Both options end up with a gazillion object handles when using cntl shft. Both use NO lockdowns when in use.
The NEW snow and grass tiles have the worst of both types, they do not Stack and they take a lockdown both in containers and on the floor, you cannot replace them if you toss them away as you can't craft them or purchase them.
I wanted enough to be able to put snow on my castle in winters for deco purposes, to do the 'roof' on my castle takes 520 tiles. So I either have to store 520 snow or grass tiles or both (1040 lockdowns) to have the option to use the tiles. And this would be a permanent addition to my lockdown count. Equates to 14% of my total storage on a 60% increased storage castle.
Ideally:
Gozas - (if they are the same hue and size) should be made stackable.
Carpets - should 'placed' and 'removed' like gozas (ie clicked and targeted then axed to remove), so that they may be raised and to get rid of the awful yellow highlighting on every floor tile in your house and so that you are not always accidentally releasing them to decay.
Snow/Grass - should be able to have "like" pieces stack, should NOT count towards lockdowns when placed and should be 'placed' and 'removed' like gozas. (ie clicked and targeted then axed to remove)
It would be really nice to have some consistency with these items.
Due to the lockdown factor, I will hang on to mine for a short period just in case something is done to change the exisiting properties. If not unfortunately I will need to give them away or bin them, but right now it looks like the bin as most of my friends have the same issue with the tiles.
Some Dev love on this issue would be appreciated. Perhaps a question for the Ask and Answer could be put up, Ie can gozas, carpet and snow/grass be treated as the ideal listed above?
Cheers
