Just curious about the different skill gumps...

All info in pic below:

I'm guessing it's because of the difference in the char's ages... Correct?

That's correct. They changed the skill groupings some years back. Characters created pre-change have the 4 original groups as on the right.

You can copy from a new char to old char in the following directory. The file to copy is; skillgrp.mul

\documents\EA Games\Ultima Online Legacy\User Data\Shard\Charname - find skillgrp from new char, copy that into folder of old char u want it in.

Actually, I prefer the gump with the 7 catagories over the one with 4. If I'm not running UOAssist, then it's easier to drill down to the skills with more groups IMO.

Can the "old" 7 group one be copied over the "newer" 4 group one?

You can just make your own groups by selecting the "new group" button and dragging the skills into the ones you want.

I only have two groups per char, one with the skills I use and the other where everything else has been moved to.

Holy cr*p... I've seen that "new group" a jillion times and I made the incorrect assumption that it would only "add" a group... Never checked it out.... I will now, thx Viper and Picus....
