We killed him 2 times last night - but we was 2 parties, and he went down farily fast.He has been killed yes. Or so I've heard.
...is absolutely nonsense - for two reasons:Why do the Devs think its cool to put an item that everyone will need (+5 scroll) into an encounter thats just not do-able with a few people
It's definitely doable with 2-3 people. We have done it.So in a few weeks time when everyone has lost interest this will be un-do-able, theres no way you and a mate will get his done with just 2-3 of you.

Tried last night with 3 of us, it was a no no. But as Petra points out it may just be a learning curve. It's definitely doable with 2-3 people. We have done it.
I have to admit, some of my characters still don't have 255 stat points, never mind 260.
The key to fight him is working together. One very good melee fighter that stays with him and a few mages keep healing him can get you a very long way.Tried last night with 3 of us, it was a no no. But as Petra points out it may just be a learning curve.
Totally agree here. I went there today with guild mate. After grinding away for about an hour I had nothing and he had a couple of robes. I just want to fight the boss not grind away to get there.I've not seen him yet; the problem is that I believe, according to the information given so far here and at UOGuide that everyone has to have the 3 parts of the key, which for most people will be collected by a pretty boring grind of the Exodus dungeon for random drops. I did 3 hours yesterday, on and off, and got 1 of the robe, dagger and altar, but couldn't face much more of it for the final part.
Sorry - but it's already been done with a group of 3... and I'd be willing to bet 2 can do it as well.So in a few weeks time when everyone has lost interest this will be un-do-able, theres no way you and a mate will get his done with just 2-3 of you.

And the OP had 6 and failed...Sorry - but it's already been done with a group of 3... and I'd be willing to bet 2 can do it as well.
Sounds like the wrong mix of templates or a lack of teamwork... Everyone tends to think sampires can do anything... yea... right...And the OP had 6 and failed...
Actually - it's probably the opposite... the larger groups - especially those that are disorganized will create the disaster... a smaller well coordinated group works very well.Have not had a chance to get in and check it out yet. Sounds like it will be great for the populated shards and a disaster for the lower populated or for the casual player who isn't on during peak hours.
Perhaps just bad RNG. I spent about 3 hours collecting keys and came away with 26 keys with 4 full sets. Averages of to one key per 7 minutes...Totally agree here. I went there today with guild mate. After grinding away for about an hour I had nothing and he had a couple of robes. I just want to fight the boss not grind away to get there.
That is a load of crap.Have not had a chance to get in and check it out yet. Sounds like it will be great for the populated shards and a disaster for the lower populated or for the casual player who isn't on during peak hours.

Completely agree...with my own spreadsheets of Character Templates and Suit builds...When I heard anout that +5 stats scroll, the gears started clicking, tweaking suits in my mind...and I knew I had to have that scroll....I can get quite anal about character creation and stats and suit building, not just for PvP but for PvM also. I love to work out the best suit, stats and weapons for what ever it is that character is built for. I love working right down to the finest detail. It keeps me occupied for hours on end.
Wow. Way to imply that I am a stupid spoiled kid who complains about nothing and wants everything handed to them. Nice Mod, nice. That is a load of crap.
Yesterday evening on Drachenfels (Smaller shard) a lot of people where in Exodus. Gathering keys, working together to kill the monsters. They used Ally and general chat to trade keys to get a full set.
Some players went to exodus on the first day but thats not required. You have 7 days to collect all keys 7 days for 4 keys!
I'm going to organize on Drachenfels often a event to fight against Exodus. Its for everyone on the shard, not just allies and guildies, next Saturday will be the first one. I'm not going to exodus before Saturday but i will collect the keys. And not just for me for everyone who don't have a chance to get all keys or has the time to get them during the week. Several other players on Drachenfels are helping me with that. But Hey, we are smart players who knows you can achieve more with working together then complaining about nothing on the boards.
Too many people who constantly complaining are nothing then spoiled kids who want everything just for them self and right away. They want things handed to them on a silver platter. They should start to play more single player games and not a MMO . But then again, its hard to complain to them self if they can't get something then.
I think Frarc responded to the entire thread with his post... obviously some of the things he discussed were not mentioned in your post but were in several others. Sadly, your original impression of the Exodus Encounter was from some of the posts higher up in this thread - and there are many assumptions there that are not true. I hope you are able to get together with some friends to try it - it is fun with good rewards.Wow. Way to imply that I am a stupid spoiled kid who complains about nothing and wants everything handed to them. Nice Mod, nice.
That is not what I said. I did say that I have not been able to log into game and check it out yet. So my opinion should mean little since it has no experience of this specific thing to back it up. If it can be done with few then great! Awesome even. Not all the smaller shards have people like you organizing things though and sometimes finding even 2 people can be hard if you play off hours. But that is the price we pay for choosing to stay on a small shard and play a game we love even if it is an mmo. Not all players are super elite players either. Or even great for that matter so sometimes things that are "possible" with 2-4 take more with regular undergeared nonelite players. Honestly only time will tell. When Cora started there were groups going both small and large. Now, noone. Hopefully this will be different but as I said...only time will tell.
YupI think Frarc responded to the entire thread with his post...
with 3 ?? do with 3 , my ass is a chinese type writerIt's definitely doable with 2-3 people. We have done it.
I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that...with 3 ?? do with 3 , my ass is a chinese type writer
That must leave some interesting text on toilet seats. You are more than welcome to come create a character on Atlantic and come watch us - though it will be difficult to find a time when the room is now totally free of other adventurers. On Test Center - it wasn't that hard...with 3 ?? do with 3 , my ass is a chinese type writer
We did it last night with a group of 8... 2 got scrolls - one got the band-aid enhancer and one got the alchemy enhancer. I imagine the drop rate will slowly decrease over time as usual. How is the drop-rate of replicas/scrolls from Exodus?
I don't think so - that's one reason the Sampires were having a difficult time... that and the death vortex's all over the floor.can he be leeched from?
Did it with group of seven. No drops on that one though. How is the drop-rate of replicas/scrolls from Exodus?
Maybe you shouldn't quote someone who is simply stating an opinion based on news from this encounter + knowledge of previous encounters then. Or you could just continue being negative about people's opinions / suggestions and watch this game get cancelled. WHICH WAS HER WHOLE POINT THAT THERE'S ALREADY NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ONLINE
It's especially amusing to see someone aggressively lecture people about not understanding what an MMO is, who then applies absolutely no long term analysis, or even shows any awareness of wider player psychology, especially within the very game being played, which is going to define how easy or accessible content is over time; thus failing to treat other people with any real independent identity at all, except in that they make him feel good right now. And yes, there's plenty of people helping each other out on Drachenfels I'm sure; There usually is for any event within the first 24 hours. A wise man however would then calculate whether the event is going to be able to be hosted when people turn against it, either through getting enough scrolls for themselves, or tastes and fashion change and the behaviour of groups dictates away from it... In an MMO with a huge player base, you'd then apply mitigating values to the odds of individual keys dropping as others will turn up on the market, assuming people don't keep duplicates in-house... and then subtract from that the practical limitations of key with 6 days of in game existence... You know, actually think about wider issues, and understand that when the initial thrill wears off, people who play unsociable hours or don't treat Ultima Online like WoW and it's scheduled raids, are simply not going to have access to an entire party all with timed keys ready when they are able to go fight the instance.Maybe you shouldn't quote someone who is simply stating an opinion based on news from this encounter + knowledge of previous encounters then.
