Strange Gems

Can anyone tell me what these gems are from and if they are rare or just something random?

They are Amethyst, Rubys, and Citrine

I believe they are from the Shadowlords event. While semi-rare since you cannot get them now, a ton of them were looted on every shard.

there just normal gems that you can buy from a jeweler or get as loot from low level monsters or treasure chests

Those are Common Gems that can be purchased from any Jeweler on any Prodo Shard, not sure about SP. They can also come from mining if you set shovel/pickax to gems.

Actually, they're not regular gems. They're the bigger ones that used to come from the gem cart. Not sure if they still do, I don't have a cart to check.

I have a hand full of these myself and I know they came as loot from one of the events they look different then regular gems and do not stack with them

I think it was from a luna event from a monster that spawned that had a locked box.

Seems like they also came with the Crimson Dragons in Brit several years ago.

They first appeared during the Strangers, or The Six, event. A different one with different abilities would spawn in different locations:
Myxkion - Despise
Valvakka - Destard
Kealdia - Luna
Rivatach - Fan Dancer Dojo
Vaector - Heartwood
Krysan - Hythloth

When each one died, a Magical Lockbox dropped to the ground and when opened the contents would burst out all over the floor, including those gems.

I think they were also used as loot on the Shadowlord Manifestations.

Think this is the complete set of the gems from the six event, plus others ive saved over the years.

One different amethyst, star saphire, diamond and citrine spawn from gem carts.

You can get them or at least you could get them from the Mining/Ore Carts if you set them to Gems. Don't know if they still drop from there or not but at one point they were.
