New Fortune’s Fire Casino Game – Dice Rider

    • Place three bets. The dealer rolls dice to make a five-die “poker” hand. During the course of the game, you may pull back up to two of the bets.

The Exodus Encounter

Those loyal still to Minax and Mondain’s creation work fervently to rebuild the mechanical demon, in hopes of once again summoning Exodus into Britannia.
  • Visit the NPC Exodus Arch Zealot outside of what used to be Ver Lor Reg in Ilshenar to learn about how to gain the Keys to the encounter and how to perform the Summoning ritual.
  • Keys may be collected via three paths, the Warrior, the Rogue, and the Craftsman.
  • In order to perform the Ritual you must party up with those you wish to play the encounter with. You do not need to party to acquire the keys.
  • Everyone in the party must have their own set of Keys to perform the ritual.
  • You may perform the ritual at any shrine in Trammel or Felucca, except the Chaos shrine.
    • Due to the restricted architecture of the Spirituality Shrine, a “satellite” shrine has been constructed in front of the original, use that Shrine to perform the ritual.
  • Exodus may be summoned so long as Exodus has not been killed in the last ten minutes.
  • If at any time during the Encounter Exodus’ HP drops below 60%, additional groups will not be able to join the encounter, if Exodus’ HP regen to 75%, additional groups will be able to join the encounter.
  • Players will be teleported to a random Ilshenar shrine if they opt to not leave the area within 10 minutes of Exodus’ death. There is a two minute warning message before this happens.
  • Defeating Exodus will give a chance to receive powerful rewards:
    • Scroll of Valiant Commendation [Replica]
      • Gives the character who eats it a +5 permanent gain to maximum stats
      • Cannot be stacked with a previous Scroll of Valiant Commendation
      • If the scroll has been used it will have a “Claimed By” item property
    • Bracers of Alchemical Devastation [Replica]
      • Hit Fireball 35%
      • Mana Regeneration 4
      • Faster Cast Recover 3

Most of the new mobs drop both new and old magic items, as if they use both loot generation systems, one after the other.

PS: Thank you for not giving Exodus "teleport" ability, but it still looks pixelated in EC.

Some of the text is much longer than that example, and we need to leave room for longer versions when translated into other languages.
I suspect it will seem like a small thing but I, for one, should appreciate it if you either remove the quotation marks or close them on both sides.

I would recommend removing them, as what you're reading in-character at that moment is a primary document, the actual Message in a Bottle, not something quoting from a primary document.

I couldn't steal anything other than gold or found any supply caches (except strange cabinets, which can not be accessed) inside the exodus dungeon. Something missing?

Tested a bunch of stuff at the casino and there were a number of issues:

1) I was not knocked off my ethy and can use paladin abilities in the casino area. I think this had been the case previously on TC so not sure if this is an unintended rollback or should I just 'pay no attention to whats behind the curtain'.

2) Doing the Hi-Middle-Lo game - what the roll was and if you won or lost doesn't show up in the journal. Again not sure if this was on purpose to eliminate some spam or if the code needs work.

3) The new Dice Rider Game -
a) none of the text works, all are giving [MegaCliloc] and/or StringId Not Found messages (1153628 through1153640 is what I think I have seen).
b) with no directions I am not sure of all the rules, but think I figured most out. I would ask that the auto next dice roll time be extented slightly to give a little time to think about removing a bet and in the cases where a minor interuption occurs(phone,kids). It seemd to be around 5 seconds, so a 15 second distraction can cost 2 bets.
c) guessing on payouts - 5 of a kind will be 5X, 4 of a kind is 3X, Straight is 2X, Full House is 1.5X (got 4/3 on a bet of 1, 1.5 on a bet of 2), and 3 of a kind is X.
I know it is a small sample (n~100) but the full house occurances seemed very low.
Question for this game - will there still be a 10000 chip limit on bets or will it be 3333 to stay in line with the H-M-L? (didn't want to risk that much of my gold even if it is TC)

Try patching to fix cliloc errors.

The veteran reward statuettes do not have the vet reward tag or the noise, is it a bug?

Thanks, patching did take care of those errors. Also for the H-M-L game, the results sometimes did appear both on the screen and in the journal later in the day but when they did they were very lagged.

On a side note in the Rider game - played about 300 times and started with 3 of a kind only once. If that same rate was applied to the H-M-L game, the house would be in sad shape.....

I too tried the rogue path, nothing but gold from zealots and could not find the caches. Warrior path appeared to work as planned though, the ability to turn the dagger back from garg to human/elf would be nice.

why do you need this? If you don't need it gargoyle, don't change it? or simply go get another one?

I can't decide which is creepier, the thought of their not attacking each other or the thought of them locked in an endless duel within it.

You sure you don't want to put the Dupre's men someplace else? Like in the desert outside VLR or outside the Exodus Dungeon (the idea being that they are containing the threat)?

You sure you don't want to put the Dupre's men someplace else? Like in the desert outside VLR or outside the Exodus Dungeon (the idea being that they are containing the threat)?

We discussed this with Adol as well, they can also make the opposite mobs spawn on both ends of the dungeon with a buffer zone (or line) around the entrance. They don't need to attack each other but at least they won't wander around ignoring the floating machines just next to them. They can move the hidden containers to the minions' side of the dungeon too.

Tried out the Rogue Path to obtain the Exodus keys.
Detect hidden (50 skill) works pretty good. I wandered around in the dungeon until I see the phrasing, "your keen senses detect something hidden in the area" then I click the "detect hidden" around in that area until I reveal the cache box. Now to unlock it, so far it seems a minimal skill has a chance but takes along time and a lotta lock picks. These boxes appear to be on timers and if you take too long, they disappear and if you attempt to reveal them again in that spot, they seem to not be there and have moved!

Once the cache box is unlocked (100 skill lvl works best and still fail at times) then use the telekinesis spell on it twice, then your good to open it . The loot consists of a few thousand $$, some gems, invis potions, smoke bombs ect.. Not every box has a key either. Out of 6 I opened, only 1 had the key. :eyes:

This is as designed. The intent is to focus the encounter inside Exodus dungeon. As far as them not fighting each other, this is also as designed. Mostly it had to do with the way the Keys are distributed.

Oh, I had some confidence that it was as designed; I've seen you have monsters that appear to fight or each other or that actually DO fight each other, so I knew it was possible.

I just don't like the design.

why do you need this? If you don't need it gargoyle, don't change it? or simply go get another one?

It would just be a nice feature, so that you wouldn't have to go get another one, if you were to exchange too many by mistake. These keys are designed to be farmed, as you need so many and their long life span, not sure if this will be changed once it hits all shards.
We had a group of 5, all warrior types and all gargoyles. After realising that we needed to exchange the dagger for a gargish one, I went and did this, then someone decided to switch to another toon who happened to be elf and thus we were required to farm more keys.

I can see this becoming a small issue for large groups or guilds looking to enjoy the new content and thought I would rais it, while it is still in testing. After all this is what this thread is all about, or am I wrong?

I'm not sure I like the timer. Part of me likes the idea of creating a revenue stream for some, like those folks who used to sell gold skulls for Doom. (And to some degree, but only a marginal degree, still do.)

I like the idea of creating businesses for characters. Part of the charm of UO is the way you can play everyday life, and a large part of everyday life IRL is just making a living. Selling the keys to something you have no wish to do yourself is part of making a living.

That's why I want them to remove the timers from the Peerless keys too.

I suppose there may well be something I'm not thinking of that makes this bad?

I will take this opportunity to suggest that, in the Noob Mines (my affectionate term for the new New Haven mine dungeon) the lizardmen come first, the earth elementals second, and the ogre lords last.

If the intent is for training purposes and for giving noobs and/or new characters of non-noobs something to do and some way to survive, prosper, and advance, this order would appear more logical.

Would it be possible to add a filter to the table, similar to the one in BOD books? So when I have the table stuffed full of maps and mib's, I can view by map type or mib coordinates? Just a thought, would make it easier to find a map or mib I'm looking for without scrolling multiple pages.

Also regarding the Noob Dungeon, was it intended that when you run in, you're facing the entrance you just came in. If so I suggest that you move the spawn in spot over one so that a new player can run instantly out. However when you run out, you are facing back in again, so it can become an endless loop of in and out. Just seems kind of odd, and not at all in line with the rest of the dungeons in game. It could cause trouble for a new player in the future if that player is expecting this in future expeditions.

On Catskill the entrance to Hythloth (both facets) has always been the same way. It used to be very annoying if you went in without nightsight active as you would get the looping you mention. I remember one very long attempt to get back to my body when killed at the entrance and therefore had no nightsight available. Fortunately the initial spawn has now been moved to the hallway, so one is less likely to die on the staircase. Nowadays my suit takes care of the vision and insurance makes for a less pressing need for recovery, but a new person may not be so lucky.

this is exactly why I posted about it. I ran in to look at the layout and 4 earth elementals were right there. No big deal for my character on test, but a new player would be freaked and probably die do to the fact he cant run forward at that point. Is there a reason that when I jump to Lvl 3 shame, my character is in a pit that does not allow me to move left or right, or back into the gate? its quite annoying when you arrive and a wind ele and evil mage at at the gate. I'm pretty advanced, and have played this game a long time, and that spooked me. Death comes quick when you cant figure out why your not moving. this is on Atlantic, and im not sure if its shard specific.

Could you take a screenshot of your radar and the area you are referencing in Shame?

As far as the orientation of the entrance inside the Haven mine, I see what you are saying but unfortunately at this point it's going to have to remain as is, will keep this in mind for future reference however. Thanks!

Would be better if it were reversed, that way when your running out, you don't run back in. That way the new player can escape from the dungeon but then run into the wall and not head back in to the monster he was fleeing. That is if you leave the direction the player is when they enter and leave the dungeon.


I'll log in and grab that screen shot, but it may cost my life to do it :)

I took the pics below in EC, he was still in a hole, but came out easier, but needed to walk away from gate to run back through it. I play in CC, and when you go into the gate on lvl 2, you end up in a hole that your stuck in unless you walk away and north or south of the gate.. this also happens when you go from Lvl 3 back to lvl 2.. hence why I gave you both pics.. This is on Atlantic, but im not sure if its shard specific.. Atlantic always seems to be just a little different from other shards, at least that holds true for house placement :)

just noticed that the EC Radar shows the same picture even tho im on a different level.. gonna have to go explore that :)
