A Doh-Oh (Guardian)

Hi all

I was just running around trammel on Europa finding a nice house spot with a sea view, when I came across this red bird at the Cape of Heroes, way south of Trinsic. Killed me almost instantly. I couldn't find any info about it anywhere, never come across it before. Anyone have any details?

thanks

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I'm not entirely sure where 'Cape of Heroes' is. Do you have co-ords?
never mind, found it. And I'm no wiser than you. I've never come across that before!

I've been all the way down around the Soutern coast of Trinsic, can't see it! Did you kill it?

I have seen the "guardian" label in two contexts: Treasure Hunts and EM events.

Since I do not recall such a beast from a map it's most-likely the latter.

Sometimes the EMs will leave content wandering around like that, sometimes something will escape.

Either way it adds to the dynamic nature of the world.

I have it on good authority that the bird has been persuaded to return to his nest and will not bother travellers again. :)

By any chance was this bird a chicken? My uber trained battle chicken, Big Red, escaped from the battle chicken fight arena on Sonoma last night. On my way with tamer to reclaim said pet.

It looks like a rehued eagle, or phoenix. I would go for it being a overly powered phoenix .

This was a left over from the Honor gate repair event on Europa. Had to kill these and several other guardian mob types for the reagents Blackthorn needed for the spell.

You found that bird on the Cape? It flew all the way from Amoeba island!

Phineas is right; those birds were from the gate healing event. One of the reagents Blackthorn needed to cast the spell was the Southern Lactarius, collected by the Doh-Oh

The Southern Lactarius is a fungus, a mushroom to be more precise. It grows only on the most southern tip of Amoeba Island and even there it is extremely rare. In fact, no human, gargoyle or even elf has ever picked a Southern Lactarius with their own hands. The only known creature with keen enough sense to find the Southern Lactarius is the Fiery Doh-O , a bird that also inhabits the island. It collects the mushrooms to feed to the corpsers. The corpsers on the island have evolved and are no longer carnivorous, in exchange for the Southern Lactarius the Doh-O feed them, they spit up the prey they've caught.
The best way to obtain the Southern Lactarius is to take it from a Doh-O bird before it gets a chance to feed it to a corpser.
