Why when it was put forth to us,did rules say 5 per shard,and if you goto party you get one? now some shards have gotten more than 5 and people who were at party got 1 for their stories?? I know of at least 4 people on chessy whos sent an em they stories e mail they never got posted!!! also know of a person who recieved an e mail telling him to pull his story cause he was going to the party !!! just give every account over 30 days a robe for christmas, get rid of the controversy.

this is not a way to keep customers, by giving some special treatment

I have more issue with one person winning multiple robes due to multiple stories (and other issues with the rules and stories) then I do with people getting them at the party. Personally I think if you spent the money and time to go there then you deserve something special. I actually wouldn't really have a problem with them getting one for the party and one for a story (if their 1 story was selected). I'm not sure attending a special event in person should exclude you from a contest.

I don't believe Mesanna intended for people to get more then one robe (especially from just the stories), however with people using different email addresses it was harder to track.

This has nothing to do with Vet Rewards, It is the 15th Anniversary. If people have multiple paid accounts, then yes, each account deserves a 15th Anniversary Robe.

I would have no issue with that either. I agree that the robe would have been a great gift for everyone and have a different prize for the other things. Of course, there would still be the same issues coming up.

We all got something for the 15th anniversary - The gifts EVERYONE was able to get. There you go, thats your gift, and your way to celebrate the anniversary. On the other hand, people who went to the irl meet + who entered the contest and won get rewarded with their own little treat. I mean, if you expect people to go out of their way to a irl meetup, its nice to give them a little treat (Such as when Blizzard does Blizzcons, participants get codes for something ingame that can only be obtained this way).

The only reason you may see more than 5 winners being given on some shards is due to the low submission rate on some shards. If some shards only had 3 winners, you might as well used the 2 extra codes to reward another submission. The contest took time and effort.


My only issue was with people submitting more than 1 story + making up stories of how they met their nonexistent wife on UO ect.

We got a nice bag and gifts for the 15th anniv. The people who went to the party should get a nice item. The story event was open to everyone.

They should have put an item with 15 on it as a 15 yr vet reward. I dont know if there was a new vet reward.

For me, it's not so much deco and pixel - I deliberately keep my possessions down to the point where I can leave the game tomorrow and not lose anything valuable when my house drops. I only pick the items up on other shards so that I have things in the bank I can sell should I transfer shards or want to start up on another shard.

It's more personal preference - the robes were the last clothing designed by TheGrimmOmen and I thought that would have been a fitting anniversary/departing commemorative item.

Someone else posted that they also asked and were told no, only one. Looks like the ones in charge failed to talk to each other and/or get their own rules in order. Or they changed they changed their mind part way through. Equally as bad. And no real surprise either.
Or someone is lying about actually emailing or the answer received.

"Why is it that those items are only available to those that wrote a story or went to a party. How do I get my (insert item that noone else gets)? Can I buy one in the store? EA is so unfair. I pay my account each month and they dont care about me or my X number subscriptions."

I think the robes look very spiffy and they make me very hopeful on the note that we might get new wearables in the relatively near future. Envy doesn't wear very well on anybody.

The robe itself or something similar should also have been given to those accounts, which have been paid for 15 years - as kind of bonus vet reward.
In my opinion also each participant in the story contest should have gotten something (and each of the stories published) - in the Memorable Moments Europe I proposed an open book or something like that engraved with words Story Teller of Sosaria or something similar. (It was too bad, that not even a confirmation about receiving the story has been sent by the EM.)

Come on, it doesn't have stats, so 99% of the time you're not going to wear it anyway.

I'd like to propose something else.

Add 3 more DIFFERENT robe styles, make 'em craftable and also make some arties with stats (like conjurer's garb) out of them. Also add a statted version for the Fancy Dress and Kimono. Introduce them when another dungeon gets revamped. Then we all have something new to wear, because yes, I agree that the plain robes are boring and ugly.

Bottom line no matter if UO devs gives in and gave everybody a robe there would be the same issue. They would have to give a new item to the ones that did go to the party and won on the stories. Then there would be countless threads of how unfair and complaints of these new items. It would be an endless cycle.
