Have there been reports of items disappearing from Bank Boxes ?

I am asking, because I checked a character I seldomly play on my main shard and found he only had 28 items in the bank box out of the 175 max allowed. Now, I honestly do not remember what there was in that bank box but since I have always had problems with storage space, all of my character have their bank boxes pretty filled up to make for more room at the House. So, that character might not have had 175 items in the bank box but definately I think there were well about 150 items.... And now 28 only........

I also thought about someone else accessing my account but I do not think that as possibility because I have noone else I have given my UO login informations and the other characters seem to be fine. The stuff at home also seem to be fine including several 1 million cheques there. Had someone accessed the account I would imagine I would have found more gone that just 1 character's bank box......... So, since 28 item total is really a bit too low for my standards of bank boxes filling, the only thing I can think of is items vanishing for a bug and that is why I am asking if others may have been hit by this bug. I tried remembering what I had in there but my memory does not help me. I wished there were back up logs I could double check........

Well, I thought about it as a possibility that I may have almost emptied out that one character's bank box but I really cannot remember about doing it nor can I find any logic since I am plagued by lack of storage space and all of my other character's bank boxes are about 170 items full.....
Besides, this one character even though seldomly used is an archer and I used to have gold to cover insurance in the bank box. Now there is none. Why would have I not only emptied almost all out that one bank box, removed all of the gold which is an unusual thing for me to do since it is a fighting character that can die and not remember anything about it ?

I am still more incline to think about some evil bug. I do really wish there was some back up log that was possible to check at least to figure out whether my memory is going the dodo way or whether indeed something happened to that one bank box for whatever reason.........

By the way, that character is still wearing a Voice of the Fallen King gorget (and another is still in this character's bank box...). Now, it is not worth that much but neither it is worth nothing. Had someone else taken the time to empty out that character's bank box I would guess they would also have taken the Voice of the Fallen King gorgets...... not to mention accessing the other characters and home.

With all the items UO has Popps, tis hard to remember what characters do have in bank boxes. Especially characters that any player would seldom play.


You may have no gold on the character if you had pets stabled and forgot about them. Remember they charge you per day for stabled pets so "IF" you had pets they may be gone as well. I used to have one of the pure black horses on my archer stabled and used him from time to time.

Pops I have not heard of any "missing items" out of bank boxes. Might i suguest you do a inventory and keep a spredsheet of the character/contents/bank holdings add in pets in stable and where they are friended/co-owned to. This will help you in the long run when you dont play some of your characters too much.

If this is a character you seldom play I would entertain the idea that you never used that one for storage. If you can't remember then there is no reason to assume that there is a major bug with items vanishing from the bank. Lady Storm has the right idea though, if you have so many items being stored on different characters start keep track in an excel file or other word document.

Uh oh UO bank boxes moonlighting as dryers and eating your socks! Hehe I do this all the time where I'm like wth I had this here and can't find it for months and then find it and say doh oh ya I moved it! Lmao I'm sure it'll come to you soon enough OP!!

True, infact, I cannot remember at all what this one character had in the bank box. What surprises me, is the extreme low number of items left in the bank box, 28......... That I can recall, I have never ever had any character in UO other than newly created ones, with so few items in the bank box.
So, I cannot remember at all the contents of the bank box but I seem to be convinced that they could not be just 28 items out of a capacity of 175 items.

Did I empty out the bank box at some point ? I do not remember and besides, since it is a character I have not used in a good long while, why would have I emptied out the bank box and not even remember about it ?
Was it a bad bug ? Who knows.

It will most likely remain a mistery to me. Since I cannot recall what was in that particular bank box, I will not be able to look around in the house or other characters and see if I find it.

The idea of having a spreadsheet to track down items is a good idea but very time consuming, I worry..... I already am short of time to play UO imagine spending time to keep tracking of the items....
I wished there was an easy way like a UO command to print out on a text file all of a secure contents or of a bank box or a character's back pack. Well, with UOAssist at least it can be done with a character's back pack but it cannot be done out of a bank box or secures locked down in a house....

Perhaps the developers might give this usefull new command in a future publish ?
It would be great if the output could be done in the format of a spreadsheet file which the player can then organize with filters and stuff, order by name of modifiers etc.

Oh well, it is nice dreaming sometimes.....

I am sure of nothing, infact, I was asking if anyone had heard of reports about bugs affecting items in the bank box.... That is, I was checking trying to figure out what might have happened to the items that were in the bank box.

Out of 7 characters, 6 have bank boxes filled up to about 170 each of them, give or take a few items. This one had only 28 AND I have for a habit to take advantage of the max storage capability of my characters' bank boxes also because I thought that items in a bank box were safer than at home....

So, everything could be since I cannot remember well but I am just saying that in many years I have never had bank boxes "wasted" to such a low capacity as 28 items. It is NOT my habit to have a bank box so much left unused..... That is why I am "incline" to think about a bug rather than me emptying out that bank box.

I think I have the same problem...I swear there should be about 150 mil in one of my bank boxes....alas I only see two mil. If a dev would be nice enough to pop on and deposit the funds into my account it would be much appreciated.
