Enhance potions: help me get this oen straight

We talked at a town hall a while back. Saying its bad to have a skill worth less than the item.
Example: Ecru ring gives you 50EP, actual skill gives you 30 for a cap or 80

I heard it has been reversed or changed. But in what way? How does enhance and its caps for now days in regards to items and skill? understanding this could help me in my armour crafting a lot.

currently with 100 alchemy. I can take my 50EP ring on and off and greater heal potions heal between 5-6 points in difference.

So what exactly is the cap on items for EP? 25? 50? Is the overall cap not still 80?
a GM alchemist has 50EP alone.
a gm alchemist with +25EP on a ring has 58.3_

I believe the cap is still 80, but you have to have GM alchy and 50EP gear to reach that cap.

Jewelry can be enhanced to 50 EP. You can find Shame (the new loot) up to 35 EP. You can craft the Ecru rings with up to 50 EP on one ring.

The cap for items on you to count is still 50 EP as far as I know. The only way to get 80 EP is to have the alchemy skill + 50 EP on items.

Your example would be correct a GM alchemist would have either 50 EP (skill 100 / 2 = 50) or he would have, as in your example 58.3 (skill 100 / 3 = 33.3 + 25 = 58.3) Since 58 is higher than 50, the 58 counts as his EP.
