Seems lately that prices on some things have gone through the roof. I know there are a lot of new peeps here, which is great. And this of course makes the price go up on the items that are most rare. A Soul Stone token used to go for 2-3 mil gold. Try finding that now days. Other items like 120 scrolls are insane too.
Now the SS tokens are an item that can be purchased irl and sold in game, so the inflated prices there are just people trying to take advantage, in my opinion. In order to get the prices of the 120 needed scrolls down we need more dungeon crawls with more people running detect.
I hear a lot of complaining on this forum about Siege not having crap to sell. What I don't see or hear is new players asking if they can go along on a hunt.
And this may just be me. But if I had a 120 scroll there's no amount of gold that would entice me to sell it to a red. Go pop your own spawn...

All great points, but if new people come here and can't get what they need to compete they will just go back to a production server where everything is plentiful. Siege Perilous is my home and i would never go to a production server when i have such great friends who have helped me on SP, but it would be an option to others. Just my two cents. This goes as another reason why the SP population is so low. I also understand there is a lot of hoarders on SP. :)

P.S. I'm not red.

So your point is what then? There is NEW2 to get them started... after that they join a guild, go on hunts, get scrolls. What then is the problem? Ohh someone who just shows up and has gold and wants to buy their way to the top. Well F that. Let them stay where they are then. Ohh and everything is plentiful on prod? LMAO Try getting a house on Atlantic...

This is the attitude and thought process that keeps SP's population low.

Lemma see now, you think we should just give everything away to get as many people here as we can so that the prices go thru the roof? What would happent then? Ohh, you'd just go bug some other shard, LOL. Put your dumb a** on ignore.

We don't play here just to farm for new people to come here and turn around and leave after a week. Which is what 90% do because they can't hack it.

You sound very mature. I don't think i stated one thing about giving something away. All my posts say BUYING.

And you are the leader of CWS now? Wow! Talk about downhill. I'm sure Grot would be real proud to read this conversation.

I'm red, and 30% of the reason I pvp is to get reactions from people like you when I crash your spawn. I'm very happy that you wont be leaving SP, and can't wait to see you outside the guard zone :)

Why don't you organize a weekly public hunt?

Hmm... I can't help but think this thread you created has a little jab towards me and the buying thread I started... :( If it is somewhat of a jab towards me and my bad habit of paying too much, then please allow me to set a few things straight...

I am not some new player with gold to buy my way to the top. I started on Siege Perilous around 2006 and quit about 2008. I came back to Ultima Online late April of this year...

I am not red, or ever been or will be red...

I don't sell much stuff, and if I do, I sell it at a low price. Most of the time I sell it lower then what I bought it for. I have been known to give out things for free too...

You seem angry... What exactly you are angry about, who knows... But if you have something that you don't want to sell to a red, then don't sell it. What you dont sell to the reds, chances are I will provide it to them for free. (I have a soft spot for all reds. My brother and his friends were all reds and always protected me and took me under their wings) If you don't like the prices being high, don't buy it. I pay a high price because I want what I want, and I don't like waiting for what I want. Plus it is just gold... Gold is easy to get, and tons of fun to spend! :D

Certain items has always been high in price. I remember paying 10 million gold pieces for a 120 Magery back in 2007... Maybe it was just me though... :( Like they say, an item is worth as much as the buyer is willing to pay for it...

:mylittlepony: Thanks!

P.S.
If there was no jabs towards me, then my apologies for speaking somewhat freely...

I don't know what this is about. I see nothing wrong with reds asking to buy 120 scrolls.
You may seen see me looking to buy scrolls for my new garg char, myst and shrowing and yes, he is born to become reds someday, as Tina Tink don't PvP and Freja is getting old and refuse to changes template.

About NEW2, I have never been good to spawns and killing high level mobs. I like crafting and some PvP for fun, not for the loot as I only loot if I get mad at someone.
All guilds doing spawn is welcome to invite NEW2 members to join a spawn.
Some had asked but some of our new players are very busy getting their skill up before they are a month old and will lose their protection from the NEW2 tag.

I think the real problem is, UO have changed, we need alot more than scrolls now, we need lots of resources for crafting /imbuing and it take alot of time, so less time to do spawn.
Also, the last 6 months, we had got alot new players, they all need scrolls, suits, weapon, jewelry, furnitures, deco items, tools and alot more. Getting all this stuff we need is very time eating.

This attitude vs reds you have belong to prod. shards, on Siege, the color is not a big issue as a guild as NEW2 get alot help from both red and blue, that be gold, resources or advices and hunting help.

Run through Luna on Atlantic and then talk about inflation, that's a big factor in alot of returning players setting up on Siege.

Yes returning players are a big factor too as they all need scrolls for the newest skills and alot soulstones. I had seen several players return, who had not played sinse AoS. Them together with new players all try to buy what they need.

It may be a time with inflation until they are done their training and can help with farming and crafting. I hope they all stay and give Siege a chance.

Really....the really high end cost is just for a couple of scrolls. Everything else seems to have stayed the same or perhaps lower cost than ever as there is certainly a surplus of scrolls.

I'm game to join a spawn hunt though lag is a problem. Only spawn P.S. I'm after is a 110 or 120 Magery. Whatever it takes to break the streaks of fizzling Gate & EV spells.

Foraging for resources and merchandise for my vendors and the bazaar merchants is going to be my main playstyle here. It does take a lot of time, most definitely.

I've got house deco vendors and a tool vendor at my shop. I'll be adding 100% LRC suits this coming week. It's near the coast west of Zento. Head out past the south tip of the mountains. It's the 18x18 without a roof at the moment.
