You should be able to access it through the house sign.
Can you still access its stuff through house sign?
I have experienced the same about 2 or 3 years ago, as I was just arranging something in the vendor, it suddenly dismissed.
Could claim the gold and items from house sign, but since the house owner does not play active any more, there was no chance to get the vendor up again.

i thought by double clicking the house sign will bring up the gump to get your items and gold back.
is this your vendor house? i mean do u own it?
if not its possible the owner didnt renew your contract if he was planning on working on his house.

7 reasons, why a vendor can disappear:
- running out of gold
- vendor owner running out of gold, so that the weekly or monthly rent cannot be deducted
- vendor owner forgot to set the contract to autorenew, thus ending after 1 week or 1 month after placement
- house owner forgot to set the contract to autorenew, thus ending after 1 week or 1 month after placement
- house owner intentionally canceled the contract (to redesign or trade the house or in an attempt, to take over the content of vendor, if the vendor owner not regulary checks)
- house decaying (after being owned by OSI vendors start to drop)
- an ugly bug eating the vendor

I had vendors fall 3 times before I stopped renting from other people. Mostly it was caused by the house owner switching the house between his various accounts and forgetting to re-set the vendor contracts with the new owner. When you have 6 fully stocked vendors it's a pain in the rear. Each time it took me a whole day to empty their stock from the house sign and then re-stock it on replacement vendors.

Sorry, I am a dumbass seemingly... I placed the new vendor now in my own house - so no need for a "rental contract", right? But in the normal vendor menu, I can´t find something about "autorenew"... Am I blind, stupid or both???
you're not renting to anyone, so there's no rental to pay and no contract to renew.
