Do you want 15th Anniversary Gifts Turned Back On?

It ended a day early, return to britannia started 5 days late. Its a special year, so is there any harm in extending gettings gifts a few more days? I know they extended it last year. Please vote yes or no, thank you!

Sadly all events the past few years ends at midnight EST/11 CST the night before it seems. At least thats been my experience. It shut down at 11 pm CST on Sept. 29 this year.

If it were only 1 gift bag per account/shard I would have collected them on every shard I had characters on. to me that would have made it worth it to do so. keeping a value on even the "not-so-rare" items. and not Only the rare items.

That being said, I don't really mind that it's no longer available.
had it been one gift per acct/shard I might have a different opinion on this.

Last year I got free 14th anniversary tickets for every character I had along with 1 free dye per shard into late October. To those who voted "No Thank You" I respect your vote, I sincerely do, I just sometimes find it baffling when people say "NO" to free stuff. Reminds me of that credit card commercial with the baby where Jimmy Fallon asks the baby over and over if they would like free cash, and the baby says "no" over and over. If you don't like the gifts just throw them away.

it lasted for 28 days/4 weeks.. more than enough time to collect the gifts on every character/every shard IMO. All things come to an end and the 29th was it for the Anniversary gifts. Sorry to say but if you waited to the last day to collect them... thats your issue not UO's.

I don't know why it needs to be, it's been on long enough for just about everyone with an active account to claim their rewards. I think a better question would have been whether or not one was able to get their reward and why. After all, if everyone got their gift why does it need to be turned back on?

i think even 3 weeks is long enough to collect ny gifts on any shard..the come back accounts didnt get them so they were pretty useless...and i doubt there was many that came back for another look..if they did they had ove 3 weeks to make or break again...

Or just create a free trial account/s and make as many weird named chars as you want, for free. And what does creating chars on RTB accounts have to do with asking for 15th year gifts to be turned back on?

As for the topic at hand, no, I don't think they should be turned back on. A month is plenty of time.

I got all of mine (even on RTB accounts before the first maintenance), in the first week, but I think it should be turned back on just for the simple fact that if they state it's going to be on from this date to this date, then it should be turned on from this date to this date.

As ridiculous as it may seem, there are people who plan their playing out in advance, and who look at calendars.

Shutting it down 6 days earlier than they had announced, with no warning, especially on a weekend, just looks really bad. It was like the RTB is being turned on October 1, whoops October 5.

What if they turned off Holiday events 6 days early? Even though I'm one of those people who jumps on free stuff on as soon as it goes active, it just doesn't sit right with me for some reason to turn stuff off almost a week earlier than they had announced.

And like Dixie and others said, the market is not going to be flooded. Those concerned with selling them already jumped on their 100+ characters and got everything. While there are a few rarer colors or whatever, as a whole these are not rares, because a rare is not something everybody gets just for signing into a shard for 15 seconds on an account between certain dates.

Whoops, I confused it and RtB dates But it still stands: If they are going to announce certain dates, they need to stick by them. Overshooting dates is fine, but closing things before the announced date, no.

i'd like to see the 15th anniversary drops turned on again too. i thought we had all day 9/30 to claim gifts. this misconception could easily be prevented by stating: claim your gifts from 9/1 through midnight 9/29 Eastern time.

If it wasn't enough for you to get the items that's just sad... You had plenty of time to get them...... I managed to get all mine on over 500 characters...

I had collected them on all shards on one account, but today when i went to transfer the gold harp. off of another shard,it was gone. ALong with all the other 15th bags and items on every other "foreign" shard. Don't know what happened but i wouldnt mind the chance to recollect. I have my doubts though.

I am baffled by these results. I never anticipated that so many players would be against a couple more days of anniversary gifts, its shocking to me. For those lucky enough to manage their schedule to get their gifts, congratulations.

That's the point. It doesn't take much "managing" of one's schedule to login for 5 minutes at least once in 4 weeks. You're a pretty atypical use case if you were unable to login and wanted to during that period, so no I don't think the devs should be reasonably expected to re-enable gifts just to suit individual, oddball cases.

I agree with the timing of the ending of the event being followed as announced.

I also had time, between a full time job and two to three hours of drum practice a day among other activities, to collect my rewards on nearly 500 characters, so in this regard I feel the ability to collect the rewards was long enough, in and of itself.

But a schedule should be followed and not truncated without announcement or consideration for what was told to all of us. That type of activity creates confusion and is not conducive to the development of faith in what is told to us over time, imo.

I recently learned that Mesanna was sick, so I guess if it was possible to make the Anniversary Gifts available again even if for a very limited time, the time for this may have passed. I wish Mesanna well. Thanks to everyone for posting, I appreciate your time and thoughtful consideration.
