The east coast lag issue returns??

Anyone else having the old east coast level3 route lag issue going on? For the last few weeks UO has been unplayable for me from like 6pm to midnight EST. My typical all around ping times were 45-75ms, during these peak times they creep up and cap out well above 200-275ms. Pretty much makes uo unplayable...

Yeah..for the past few weeks my lag to origin has been bad.. but the east coast shards are 3 green bullets.

I'm guessin it's EA servers... May be working on a Large patch....

Have you gone to DSLReports to see what your ISP is giving you in your area?

It's that time of year.. you know the time when you want to sit around because it's cold out and play.. So now it's going to be laggy!

I experienced Massive Lag the first few times it has come around (Comcast /Alter.net).


Lately I have not had any issues... *hopes to not experience that again*, hopefully it gets resolved Asap, for anyone who's having this, I know it sucks.

I've died twice in the last hour due to freezing for 5-10 secs.

Really irritating.

Yes, Washington State here.... Lag bad tonight... EA is doing something with the servers... Too many people with way different traceroutes to be anything else...

Ok, I'm all about figuring this out.... From what I've seen in various threads here and elsewhere, I will be really shocked if Alter.Net controls nodes in this many different parts of the country...
But, having said that, here's my tracert.... Yes, Alter.Net is a bit slow, but then it pretty much always is (at least in this part of the country, which btw is Washington State, Puget Sound) and I don't normally lag like I have the past few days...

So let's see some more tracert's here...

I've been playin since '98 so I'm quite familiar with lag-death, and this recent stuff reminds me of the Old Days ! I mean, back then, it wasn't the route - it was Origin...

I don't know how much longer I'm willing to put up with this. I only have a few hours to play every day and during those times the lag is really bad. Not going to pay to play a game that makes me think I'm back on a 56k modem.

And yes I know it's not EA's fault, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm not going to pay money for this type of irritation.

It is always ALTER.NET, I ping 45-65 until i hit ALTER.NET and thats 3 of them in a row and yes last few weeks it has been terrible between about 7pm and midnight. Gotta love it.
Reminds me of 28k dial up back in 97.
