Seems a bit basic, but it's good that it's up and out there! Let's hope they start adding more soon! The new player guide looks very nice in HTML rather than a PDF... Virtues are absent though..

Already got a bug report.. If you go to the Screenshots or Talents of Sosaria pages, and click on a image to enlarge it, just a split second before it shows up, you get the Warhammer icon in the background.

Just a heads up!

Wonder why all the pics are from Asian shards?

Also under the runic and material special properties list the pictures do not show for me at the top of each column. This is under the knowledge section.

Wow . . . that looks really good.

I'm really jealous of their designers/artists. Wish they were on my team. I think it is one of the best looking MMORPG websites on the Internet.

The background looks like the black stone walls of the Castle Blackthorn, so I took that as reflecting a new era for the new website. The frames are very similar to the frames of the windows in the game, so they have a familiar look and the font used for the news titles looks great. It is also nice to see the EA logo re-designed for UO. There are some things that can be changed, but they are mostly minor things. I like the way they used Richard Garriott's tone (and some of his words) to explain what Ultima Online is -who can explain the game better than its creator anyways. Some sections still need attention, like the tables, listing EMs etc. As explained to me by Martyna, "The ruffle on Minax’s bustier is the artist failing to recognize the fact that in the CC her armor style doesn’t cover the paperdoll bra completely.", so she looks more like a maid than an evil villian, thus I wouldn't go with that image. They can also move the inactive fan sites to another category like we do in uoguide. Overall, I really like the new site.

But why does the site have a picture of the EA Gamecard, which is not useable for UO according to EA Game Cards ?

And clicking the picture links me to my regional Origin store, which doesn't even sell the card anyway......

Edit : And I can't seem to find a link to the Bioware store, but isn't that the only place to buy the 15th Anni lithograph and the UO clothing items? Those surely deserve to be findable through UO.com....

Good site. Clean and simple. Would be nice to flesh the knowledge section out though or provide means for community-contributed content in those areas.

Would be even cooler if there were official forums though. :p

Really Impressed with the transformation.

One area of improvement that I can see is better organization in the pictures section and more picture\video content that feature different aspects of game play. It takes time to work on that so its just an observation.

I also must applaud the inclusion of Stratics on the front page!

This part of the website looks 8 years out of date.. What is this? Why don't they just let us "submit" something to the website so it doesn't feel out of date? Like player submitted screenshots, etc.. Comics too!! I know players have made plenty of comics out there!

Checking out the Item and Magic Effect Categories, on the new site.

I have noticed there are no SA-released properties on the list. such as Eaters, Splintering Weapon, Hit Fatigue/Mana Drain, etc.

so hopefully it's not left "As-is" and is still being updated.

Overall it looks great, and keep it up =]

You are mistaken. You CAN use the EA gamecard for UO. That's how I've been paying for my accounts for many months now. I'm in CA, and they sell the gamecards at Safeway supermarkets AND Toys R Us.

The site looks nice, but I personally won't use it when I can read stories from the herald on Stratics. What would get me to use the site is to add the MYUO functionality so I can do character and guild searches, and also check faction rankings. I hope this is the next thing they will implement on the site.

I have said this many times, but given all of the game-related security fiascoes that have happened in the past few years, and not just Sony really botching things, but even BioWare getting a server hacked in June of last year, any website that's going to require our logging in with our game/Origin.com credentials, and that can access game data is going to go through stringent security checks/audits and is not going to be handled by the UO team, or probably even BioWare for that matter (since Mythic no longer really exists).

If it's ever added back, it's because Mesanna/Jeff had to make a case for it, and somebody way up in corporate security had to sign off on it, and then probably the Origin.com people would implement it since it ties into their system.

Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online don't even have their web functionality back, and some of that was simpler than MyUO, status of certain areas, housing availability, etc.

To use the guild search and character search you didn't need to log into it. Only to adjust your own characters for whether you wanted their stats to show or not.
Also, the password was seperate to your game account. I had changed my game password multiple times but was still logging in to myuo with the very first password I had. That's when I logged in at all, mostly I didn't. It wasn't needed.

You didn't need to login to the Warhammer site to see some of the things that it used to show, like Realm War status, and you didn't need to login to the DAOC site to see the Housing Directory either.

After Sony's security fiascos, and after a BioWare website was hacked, EA probably does not make much of a distinction from a security point of view. If there is a website accessing data, whether it's just what houses are available or taken in DAOC or server status in WAR, or guild or character search, or account information, then it's going to have to go through much tougher security standards than a few years ago.

How many people use the same password across multiple accounts?

I understand your points, but I have to side with EA and Jeff and Mesanna on this one. Too many security blunders happened to some major companies in a short amount of time, including BioWare. If EA wasn't paranoid about security after Sony's problems, we would not have lost this functionality.

ahh, sorry, I was under the misapprehension that it was lost because of the change of CMS to Drupal. My bad.

WAR and DAOC lost their stuff as well, before UO I think, and the WAR producer said it was just going to be too much to add back in because of security stuff at the time. BioWare getting a former server hacked kind of spooked them even more probably.
