If I wanted an image, that when looked at, instantly reminded me of UO, it would be somebody in bone armor. I love seeing people in bone armor. Reminds of the days when people would kill stuff and then wear whatever they found, instead of all of the imbuing/artifact/etc. stuff.
To my mind there is no single image. It's the mix that makes the game.

Here is a classic UO moment, never mind that it just happened yesterday.
So I am doing a little redecorating in one of my houses and needed to move one of the vet reward braziers... I try to chop it with my axe, but get the message that it was locked down. Ok, so I unlock it and try to axe it again but get the message that I can not axe that. Ok, so I double click it and get the message it must be locked down. So I lock it back down and double click it, but I get the message that I am not old enough to use that. Ok, log in with an old co-owner account and double click it... It does not redeed, it just turns on the fire. Ok, I wish to release this.. But you are not the house owner so you can not release this. Log back on the house owner, release the item , log back in the older account and double click the brazier... This must be locked down to use. Ok, try to axe it while it is unlocked with the older account but you can not axe that... OK, HOW THE F&$@ DO I PICK THIS DARN THING UP TO MOVEIT??? Then it dawns on me, just pick it up and put it in my pack!! DUH!

Have to agree not the look but sounds. Nothing gets my attention more after logging on after a long duration without UO. The rusty hinge sound of a container opening that makes me feel like I am home.
The original painting (appeared to be done with oils) was hanging on the wall in the Bioware Mythic offices at the meetup.

For me, like Magdalene, just hearing "Stones" brings back all the memories, and feelings I had in the early days. I play it every few days, though lately it makes me feel a little melancholy.
