EA wouldn't let him work with the Ultima IP a year or two ago when he asked them, and he is claiming his Ultimate RPG is going to be the spiritual successor to UO when EA is working on a new Ultima. Think they will fly him out and put up him for the weekend? I don't, especially since he'd probably want to talk about URPG.

I think it will be RG, but I wouldn't rule out possibly Raph Koster.. Maybe Starr Long.. Someone involved with the original development team of some significance.

I don't think the fact that they didn't come to an agreement with RG on the IP is an issue. I think even they know, this is UO's 15th birthday - It's not, or should not be about, something that isn't going to happen or some business reason.

And if I recall correctly, RG has come to Town Halls and the like in the past.

I don't think RG will be there. That town hall wasn't held on EA premises if I remember right?
Looking at the current fiction, and reading posts from people more familiar with Ultima lore, I think our next king is probably destined to be Lord Blackthorn, not Lord British.

It's going to be a character actor dressed as Lord Blackthorn, and he's going to discuss the new theme pack, Lord Blackthorn's Return. They will stage a live coronation ceremony as well since the press release that went out to the game websites mentioned a coronation.

You can pretty much guarantee that it won't be somebody who left EA under bad circumstances or who is at a company which competes with EA, which rules out most of the former developers.

I would say probably Jeff Skalski, because it's an hour-long Q&A. It wouldn't be somebody above Jeff, because what do you ask somebody above Jeff? Why are guys pouring money into Ultima Forever instead of UO? They wouldn't open themselves up to that.

But it would be cool if it was somebody from UO's history that was recognizable.

I think it's going to be Mitt and he will tell everyone that 47% of the players just want free pixels/PvP or something else no one can agree with. He will then turn to the other half of the room and tell them what a good job he will do with the game for the next 4-8 years if given the chance.

But he went to space
