Congrats to all, who participated in this game in the past and in the current, as players and developers, as producers and in any other role, who all had their share, that we are still online.
Lets all celebrate this day and hope, that we can do the same in 5 years for completing the second decade alive (hopefully with a lot more new players, than in the past few years)!

That there are still bugs in game after all these years, shows one thing - this game is from humans for humans (and with humans) - and failures belong to humans
But despite the issues, which can be annoying sometimes, we still hold our position in the game.

So I'm reading this thread and thinking back on all the great times we've all had here and decided to get my very first character on ( he's slightly under 15 years by a couple of months ) for the celebration. And since MANY of my fondest memories are from those early months, I decided to dress him in (what was at that time) the finest armor you could find back then (and it was from some monster's drops, not made by a tailor)... Wish I could remember the monsters that drop'd Bone Armor... Hmmm... He's standing where we ALL used to meet back then, behind Vesper bank... (W-Brit bank was for the newbies back then)....

Anyway, here's to UO and all of us here !!! And to another 15 years....

15 years ago today, what you would see on the patch screen:

WELCOME, CHARTER EDITION PLAYERS!!

Over the next few days we will be posting on the web site and here in the patch server message regarding scheduled downtimes, upgrade dates, and other such information. Right now we are planning to have periodic update times on the order of every two weeks, where we release a new patch that updates new features. We've got several nifty features coming for the first iteration of this process, so keep an eye out!

We will be opening the servers to the public this evening, September 24th.

We will be having scheduled downtimes every day until further notice. The time will be 11am for the time zone the server is in. Pacific will be down at 11am Pacific time, Atlantic at 11am Eastern time, etc. In addition, the scheduled downtime for the login process is 11am Central time. This downtime implies that all servers are closed for access.

This does not mean downtimes will happen every day! These are merely the times that downtimes will occur if there is a patch or upgrade scheduled.

I first heard of UO from an old roommate years and years ago. He and his best friend played beta and managed to get me in. A noob knowing nothing except I was told we gonna give you a few things and you go out of town and kill things, potions and bandies to heal your life.

My first memory of entering Britania back in Beta......

Friends: Heres some crap armor till you get stronger. Heres a shield and a kryss and a bag with potions and bandages.

Me: Where do I go?

Friends: Out of town anywhere just watch for reds. If you see one RUN!

Off I go heading NE outside of town following the road. Holy **** wtf is that?!? *wack klink bash* WEEEEEEE! I killed it!!! Feeling like a badass I go a little further and see my name, I stop and see someone. They were not red so I knew I did not have to run. WRONG!!! lol That person was bait! lol Their job was to stop people passing on the road so the members of DEN "Dark Elven Nation" could kill them. I was paralized, ebolt then FS. All was grey and I was crying. lol Their leader walked up and spoke but one word and till this day I will never forget "Midkemia." Spelled it wrong most likely but I tell this story even today after all the years of not playing OSI. I just returned to OSI Chesapeake and so far....no Midkemiea! lol
