How does city loyalty work now?

I am having an awful time keeping my characters loyal. I have 8 characters for 8 different cities at Adored from 3 separate accounts. I have one character for 1 city at Venerated. In the last week, I am getting the message the moons fail to preserve and they are dropping to Respected and Adored on the Venerated one, even though I'm opening them every day. I faithfully sign each character in every single day.
This has been and is a lot of work and is a royal pain in the butt when you think you are doing everything right. Granted, it doesn't take a lot of work to get them back, but multiply by 8 and it IS a lot of work and time that I'd rather be spending on something else.
After they said they fixed the loyalty dropping, I had no trouble until the last week or so.
We were told that city loyalty was going to be important, has that been forgotten by the present dev team?
Should I just forget it?
What are the rules about characters to maintain loyalty?
Anyone else having this problem?

I like the way good loyalty decays, but the opposite doesn't. I made the mistake of killing one of the greys in one city a longgggg time ago, I've been Disfavored ever since....

Hmpf - is that the reason why my char seems not to gain anything, because I misinterpreted the guard captains advice telling Slay the raiders if you must?
Thats not funny, clicking 100s of these stupid fires and garbage piles for nothing.

What I have figured out is if you log in lets say at 5pm on a tuesday, you have to log in before 5pm on wednesday for it to align or it will fail, its not once per server down

I fixed mine for the moment, I'm logging in my characters twice per day, once in early morning and once in late afternoon/early evening. Been doing this for 4 days now and it's working (*crosses fingers*), ..............so far. All characters are opening with "moons aligned". I hope they get it fixed and soon.

I am doing it 3 times a day to hopefully make sure I do not lose anymore (AM, NOON and late PM before 9PM)

I guess I should post this here instead of making a new thread, I do champ spawns regularly, I dont see any gain in city loyalty. How does this aspect of the system work?

Edit: I do them in fel, typically ice west or desert spawns. Also Abyssal Infernal and Prime Evil.

I was like that too Sean, did it once a day for months now, no problem, then I went on a trip and got out of my normal time routine and that must have triggered something. I didn't think much about it, just continued and it was ok, and then...............boom, the hammer lowered.

Yep, on my one character that is Venerated, I had just done a champ Barracoon spawn, solo, from start to finish, next day, poof, Adored instead of Venerated.
