If I place a new house, how long before old one decays?

It's been literally half a dozen years or more since I've placed a new house. I'm getting ready to head off to take pics of design ideas and thought if I came across a nice spot on an ocean somewhere to place, I'd do that.

Questions:

• What happens to my old house?
• How do I get my stuff moved?
• Can the old house be sold if I've already placed a new one?

Your old house goes into normal decay cycle, roughly 5 days to empty it. Move it in packies via gates, or if you're lucky enough to have a house teleporter set, place one in the old house and one in the new one and just port your stuff over. Not forgetting to take the porter from the old house after you finish using it.
yes you can sell/trade it - though they could just wait till it falls down and hope to place.
