Thank You UO for 13 years of Fun!

Just wanted to say good by!

Today I gave away my last 2 houses on Atlantic with quite a bit of 13 years of stuff left in them. I packed what I could fit in my banks and on Thursday and Friday my accounts will go inactive. It has been an awesome run, but I feel it is time to move on. I have made many friends in my 13 years. Starting off in 1999 on Baja and eventually playing on Sonoma, LA, Seige, and finally-- what I have called my home shard for the last 4 years, Atlantic.

I may come back in a few years and see how things are going, one never knows--I have enough stuff in my banks that I won't need a total rebuild. I will try a few new things in the meantime. When I started UO I just turned 40--it is hard to believe I will be 54 in a few short months. Over all it has been great fun and I wish UO and it's players many more years adventure!

I like your style Willard, I too have played this addiction since it's start and now enjoy playing with my kids, However my kids that play are 14 and 20 and play more on a casual style as they are consumed with games like Skyrim and the other graphic rich games. My point is that I too am a bit weary and figgure I can do the same, bank my most valuables, SS's and gold and wait and see, because like you I know I will be back!! So with that said lets not say goodbye......I'll see ya later!!!!

Another good friend of mine on LA also just got hacked. She lost her castle and all her 14 years of collectables, weapons, armor and the lot. She too called it quits. It is too bad she had to go out on such a sad note, at least I am taking a "leave of absence" of my own free will. I am sure I will be back one day--UO is an awesome game and always will be!

I know how you feel. It's 15 years later for me now and I feel ancient. Where did the time go while having such fun? A friend of mine called it quits very recently also, when she lost 15 years of everything (Castle/Museum/collectibles/rares) because of not linking her auto-paid accounts to the new system.

Ya, I have been playing Guild Wars 2 and am totaly enjoying it! Skyrim is an awesome game....when it goes MMO it should be amazing--if they listen to their player base. The main thing I like about GW2 is they do not put up with bots, hackers or any other shady stuff and the listen to their players......so far it is an amazing game.
