Best farm spot for new magic items

I'm currently enjoying RtB. Right now I farm magic items (the new ones, which came with Pub 73). First to unravel them for relic frags and second because once in a while there pops up a really nice item (I don't mind the negative properties).

I tend to stay with clay golems in shame lev.2 right now, since they're quite easy and fast to kill but still provide powerful items. But i was wondering if there might be better stpots to farm. So I'd like to hear your opinion on these two questions:

Which mobs do drop the best items? (even if they're hard and tendious to kill)
Which mobs are best to farm? (in terms of good items per hour)

Try Covetous Level 3 Entrance...its kinda easy to lure the critters to the entrance, jump out, prepare, jump in and kill kill kill...best way i found out on my tamer/mage/stealther with a GD..
You can get in trouble if you lure to much spawn but the loot is very good and you get a chance for a Covetous Artifact drop there (Hephaestus, Lenses, etc..)
Depending on the spawn (Demon, Undead, Reptile, etc..) you can also use a Warrior but better a Sampire using a Slayer wep..
But best results i found with Tamers there yet...Be sure to have not less and not more than 1100 luck - it helps with magic items AND seems to be the best when it comes to getting Artifact drops..
Have fun!

I concur, they are very fast though so not super easy. I also like level 2 shame. and the air elementals in shame, not sure what level that is.

Sounds good. Will try that.

Why exactly 1100 Luck? Isn't more luck increasing the chances even more? I'm confused...

Luck seems to be bugged and luck over around 1100 seems to wrap around and actually count as decreasing luck the farther you go...

I'm really impressed by the sheer amount of loot with 500 or more imbuing weight there! It can get ab bit stressful to loot all these corpses, when respawn kicks in. (I like to take my time to loot). So I fought my way through level 3 and tried level 4. While the loot is even better there, it takes ages, to kill mobs down there. Not only that they all got 95+ resists, they also have around 3000-7000 HP. Is there probably any better choice than a tamer?

Doh....

I once tried a sampire. But I died all the time and i didn't make that much more damage.

Isn't there any other template, which can compete with a sampire?

I know this is a bit of a necro, ish, but I'm in a similar situation to the OP but using a mystic bard to kill the air elementals in lvl 3 shame. It's not particularly fast/efficient and it can get dicey if rising colossus drops at the wrong moment.

I've been wondering if a wraith thrower would be any good for farming stuff? they look fun. I've got a sampire but I don't have an elemental slayer weapon and haven't had much luck finding someone who could make one, so I can't do enough damage on the elementals to actually leech any life back.

A wraith thrower would work but the sampire has an advantage in Shame due to the sheer volume of spawn. The sampire would rarely need to move while the thrower generally needs to move around more which could attract more unwanted spawn to overwhelm you. This may not matter much in the lower levels of Shame as long as your gear is decent.

I personally like Exodus dungeon, since you also get the keys to the Exodus peerless to drop, and it's only one level. provo bards have fun down there.

Vials of Vitriol are used to imbue Elemental Slayer. Unbound EV drop this. Try killing some with your sampire using honor and EOO and collect the vials to create yourself a nice counter elemental weapon.

Sooooo many options ...

For vials of vitriol i would recommend the acid ele spawn in the abyss. Very easy to do with a halfway mage (possible with ev's only). Let alone a tamer with a cu ...

I am doing well with my tamer at the blood elementals in shame. A greater dragon works fine. I am little faster when i am taking a rune beetle and a secondary pet. (Ki-rin in my case but nightmare might be better.) But be prepared, that combo takes a lot of healing with vet. You only should remember, that pets really should be well trained down there. (When i started with my GD, it was sooo slow, that it got fought by usually 2 blood eles at the same time.) The beetle works better, becourse its poison helps stopping those eles from healing itselfs. Aditionally it makes a big difference, if you can discord with your tamer or not. (Mine cant, but with it should be mostly easy going.)

Once you can discord the elementals in shame, you could farm them with ev's. I once tried my pure bard down there and it was definately faster than a pure tamer with a GD.

The funny thing with around 11xx luck is, that you can get it at relative low costs: 6 armour pieces imbued with 100 luck, 2*100 more on ring + bracelet, Jaanas Staff and the minor arty luck robe. (The special imbuing ingredient für 100 luck-imbues can be easily picked up in numbers in the abyss.)
