How do you use Putrid Hearts?

I have not seen any instructions, might be blind but, I cannot figure it out either?

you double-click them in your backpack, and they get added to your total.

Then, when you click trade at the wisp, you get a backpack open with a selection of stuff to buy with the points, as if ou were looking in a Vendor Backpack (not shopping at an NPC).

There is a mysterious wisp near the entrance to Despise. Double-click it to have a conversation and learn something of the new dungeon content. (..) CollectPutrid Hearts (the Dungeon Crystals of Despise) and spend them with the Mysterious Wisp on powerful rewards.

It (Mysterious Wisp) contains randomly generated ephemeral armor and weapons which can be bought using the putrid hearts that are gained as you fight. Double click the hearts to convert them into ‘Despise Crystals’, the hearts will disappear, converted to a figure on your Loyalty Ratings Prices in ‘despise crystals’ are shown together with the item’s description. The higher the power level of the creature killed, the more hearts will be awarded.

You will also obtain Putrid heart.png Putrid Hearts for every creature your controlled creature kills based on their power level. You can use them to obtain Dungeon Crystal Points of Despise which you spend with the Mysterious Wisp at the entrance of the dungeon on random Ephemeral magic items.

Is the list of ephemeral items static or are they all random each time? They seem to be random each time from what I've seen.

I tried to load a rustic vendor with Putrid Hearts to sell, and it just commo deeded them and put it back in my bag. Guess they can't be sold.
