account hacked

my uo account has been hacked.

Does anyone know who I can contact, or anything to try to get this fixed?

I try to contact EA, and it just hangs up on me. I try online chat with EA, and they tell me I have to call EA, to which it just hangs up on me.

Anything is appreciated.

I know I am unlikely to get any thing back from EA, but I would at least like to know if it is possible.

I spent 200$ on the phone to the USA trying to sort out a hacked account of mine
(was from 7 years ago - last time I stopped playing) - when I came back 4 months ago I didnt have the account anymore

Was told on the phone it would be sorted - but a week later got an email from EA saying there was nothing they could do

That is just sad...

I called, and sent emails, and they are investigating....

I know if I can not get anything back, I likely will not continue playing. It's sad that some poor smuck is willing to steal everything from someone and have no remorse.

Tell the richest person on the LA shard what got stolen (VM), and they might be able to find the culprit in game, and maybe get some stuff back for you.

Yah, that's a good idea.

Really wasn't much stuff per say to the average joe...

Just lots of resources and crap.

off the char's, they took 3 ornies, 6 luck conjurer's garbs, and conjurers trinket, and 4 tangles, and 3 crimson's.

I am most disappointed about the 14-20 soulstones with full skills on them.

The rest of the stuff is replaceable.

The stones might have been loaded and moved to another shard if the person thougth he has your account locked up, like the twerp who tried on mine. Check the full list when your account is returned and did you contact Mesanna? She has a great deal of exp in locating and fixing this sort of thing. an account from 7 years ago? probably is gone if it was hacked (would have 7 years of the same person paying for the account o record) be hard to prove that in fact it was yours to begin with

Very easy to prove the account is mine actually

all accounts have similar names -
ie very very similar - and it happens to be my hotmail address - where EA is linked too.
what are the statistics - of someone created an account - of exactly the same name as my hotmail account (and other 2 accounts)
Especially since its not a 'common' name - or even a recognisable one.

I emailed mesanna - hopefully she can sort it out, she certainly seems alot more inclined to help than EA does...
^sigh^ I just wish OSI owned this game again, at least when Origin owned it - GM's actually came and helped, and they seemed to 'Care'

I doubt theres anything on my 7 year inactive account - since I looked around my shard - and the Tower definately went IDOC (which was where all my stuff was)

But its nostalgia - It's my account - and I want it ^^

1 of your accounts was abcdef
Another was abcdef2
another was abcdefish

Its kinda logical to assume the accounts are 'linked' in same way?

on top of that - I know roughly when it was registered.
what shards were played
characters
whether I had been in jail (old old GM punishment)

depending on how far their DB goes - and what it contains - I can prove it
let alone the account names

People toss the word "hacked" around far too much these days.

A computer or a network can be "hacked".

An account is Compromised. Usually as a result of a poor password choice. Account sharing. Email account compromised.

For your UO account to be "hacked"; the thief would have had to illegally accessed Mythic/EA's servers, retrieved your account information and then accessed your account. I doubt anybody is going to go through the trouble and risk 20 years in prison by taking this method when they can easily just guess at your password.. or just login directly if you gave them access to your account and/or email account at some point.

Sorry. Just a peeve of mine. "Hacking" hasn't gone on at a civilian level since Matthew Broderick played Global Thermonuclear War with Joshua.

I had alot of problems when my hotmail account about 7-8 years ago. PW's kept changing on me, etc
Perhaps thats how they got in, Of course back then, my whole guild and all UO friends new my hotmail addy.
So couldve been anyone.

But to me - hacked/compromised really means the same thing...
aka - unauthorised entry ^^
