Need timely advice about house status!

Im right now on my buddies account who had not changed his credit card info when the billing change went over, trying to salvage one of his last remaining homes in IDOC! So, he had 4 houses on this account, all grandfathered, 2 of the 4 have fallen (the two with all the stuff of course) and 2 smalls remain.
One of the two remaining is the house I made ages ago on the fel vesper islands of LS called "Hermanns Hole" which I'm sure a few LSers have seen, behind the alch shop by the vesper bank. Been there since 98. It's a minor LS landmark.

My question here is now that both smalls are condemned, do I have to trash one to save the other? I called a GM but no one is coming.

Any one know? I don't want to trash an even older house to save the Hole if I don't have to.

PM and/or email ([email protected] ) Mesanna , only she can take care of it. GMs are useless/clueless when it comes to this problem.

an Iconic Oceania castle fell on monday (yesterday) - reason this was iconic was because it was
1. a museum
2. absolutely full of rares, - server birth, EM - oddities etc

I paged a GM quite a few times - to see if it could be locked (made a historical location)
I emailed mesanna, to see if house ownership could be put into an EM's name - so it would stay a museum

Got absolutely zero response from GM's and Mesanna.
and Sadly the castle fell,
there were about 8-10 people there, about 2-3 I had never seen before, so obviously either IDOC'ers or xsharders.
and another Oceania landmark is gone - when a very simple measure could have saved it.

I too understand only too well your frustration. Recently I lost a friend of over 15 years who didn't manage to get her accounts linked and the exact same thing happened to her MUSEUM full of rares and CASTLE full of 15 years of hard work and collections.
One item was so rare .. a Lava Flow Tile made by a GM. When the building fell, a new player got her castle spot. After that, there was nothing anyone could do to help her. It is such a shame. There was no WARNING NOTICE from EA/BioWare/Mythic because she didn't know how to link accounts to the new system. I still can't understand why all this happened. But perhaps after playing the game for 15 years, she took a holiday and wasn't noticing that her once safe autopayments weren't being made and no one warned her that her accounts were not being automatically transferred to the new ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT.

So it seems with so many vets. I know one who was 66, retired who started playing Ultima OnLine when the games were solo. Then when UO went On Line, he was playing with his grandson. Now he must be what? 81? His account too went by the way and all he had worked for in the past 15 years supporting UO .. is gone.

Oh dear...what can the matter be? UO seems to have lost most of it's old veteran backbone-support and the multi-game players want to be endowed with all the neccessities to be the best character in the game RIGHT from the start of UO.

hmmm.... where have I heard all this before?

Many times if a account has gone beyond the 90 days the only resort has been to trade off and hope you can save them... Mesanna has been a real trooper fixing many billing bungles and rescuing some grandfathered accounts. But there too she is limited in time and scope of how far she too can go. Unfortunatly hollidays and weekends even she cant be always in contact with us the uo community.
Reciently UO billing has been suffering lapses in cards being excepted, resetting back to 1 month billing from multi biling, and even rejecting CC's due to multi use ... (i keep getting my card shut down cause it bills on more then 3 accounts the fraud alert keeps going off!) Fustrating as all hadies.
Uvtha perhaps if you tell Mesanna of this loss she just might give a hand to restore the last 2 back.. no promises but its worth a try. As they are landmarks as you pointed out. Good luck with it my friend.

Just as an FYI, Messana DID get back to me, but like 10 minutes after it fell. She was very timely though, and I appreciated it.

Happily it wasn't an "important" house, just in a neat spot, and had been there for 14+ years. Still got visitors every now and again though.

But since I don't play LS anymore and my friend whos account it was had not logged in in like 6 months, and didn't really care all that much about losing all his stuff its no big loss.

I was actually pretty happy with the responses and the timeliness of the support staff, even though it didn't work out.

Its not a big deal really. I think my friends were just hanging on to the accounts for nostalgia sake since the group of brothers had been sharing 2 accounts (and also using my two accounts) since beta. Clearly they weren't even paying attention to the billing which caused the collapses in the first place, so its not a big thing.

Just like real life if you don't take care of your things you may lose them. At least you and the looters got all the pixelated items and they still exist in game if you or them didn't discard them or fail to take care of them.

Complicating matters was this was a holiday weekend in the US (Yesterday was Labor Day - a sort-of less-communist version of May Day). So Mesanna even getting the message and arriving 10 minutes late was better than what really could be expected.
