Tips for Level 3 Covetous

I'm working hard to earn a pair of Prismatic Lenses for one of my new characters. So far I have tried working the Level 3 Covetous entrance foyer area with three characters (sampire, necro-mage, and mystic-mage). I've earned over a combined 40K points on the leaderboard. I have not gotten any drops.

What is the average drop rate per points? Is there anything I can do to help me get a drop? Does luck matter for your chance to get a an artifact drop or does that only affect loot intensity?

Thanks! I'm just getting a little frustrated and wondering if I am doing something wrong.

Unfortunately, we're all at the whims of the RNG. I have about 600k points and not too long ago, I went almost a month without getting a drop. You say 40k without a drop, I went almost 180k without a drop. I've had dry spells before, never that long and usually ended with a really good day, getting 2 or 3 drops, but this time, I've never caught up, just one at a time since then. I'm pretty sure luck only affects loot intensity.

Thats why i do the void pool. I can get the items several times before someone else get the right items on level 3.

Luck does affect it, definitely. Earned about 600k points til now and got 25 arties.

Um, to the best of my knowledge, you earn points for doing Lvl 2 of Covetous (the void pool). You do not earn points for doing lvl 3 Covetous, but you do get the real artie drops there. So if you are able to get points on the leader board, you are on lvl 2, and will never get a real artifact drop.

There is no message . The first time i only noticed the item in my backpack when i got back to my house.

I'm not sure but i always stay with the same character.

Doing it with two chars - hard to say: Got two drops withing 4 kills at one day and then nothing within 200 kills.

The drops seems to come in sprints.

I can go awhile without a drop but when it does drop an item, stick around and you still probably get 1-2 more drops that same day.

Cause I've farmed level 4 cells for weeks on end for the loot have never gotten anything, but I got a arty running through level 3.

I have gotten drops in level 4, so it works too, but I have not gotten enough drops in lvl 3 or 4 to tell much about the trends or the rates.

Getting the arties in level 3 or 4 have absolutly no comparison to your points. The points are just a throw off from the level 2 spawn and as stated will be going away. It is a good measure of how much you have killed but that is all it is. As for the drops they are just like doom - like doom I have no idea if they have implaced a "once you kill so much" you get an arti rule, but all you have to do is Kill, kill, Kill. I have gotten a full set minus one type for each of the Bow / Throwing Slayer, I have a whole set of the other ones. I clear the level 4 areas.

Level 4 monsters are harder. So if they give you Arties more often then level 3 it would take much longer to kill them. The time you might get a item could be the same then.

like i said, ive killed probably over 1000 critters on level 4 and have yet to see a arty there.

Its been my experience that you only get a drop once every 12 hours, I can get an artie drop at 9am be there all day and not get another drop until 9pm. I have spent many an hour down there and it appears to be a 12 hour cycle

Can´t confirm that: Got 2 arties within 5 min some day and sometimes 3 days nothing. There is no fixed time-cycle behind it. But Luck gives a boost.

I have 775K on points board, but haven't done Void Pool in over a month. I use a stealth SW/Mystic/Mage (RC kills only) in 3rd floor foyer and have over 30 artis and over 2,000 relic frags from loot. I wear Luck suit 2080/2880 (after rubbing Buddha Belly). I find better drop rate on the higher fame beasties. I believe my Luck has run its course, though. I was getting 1-3 drops a day, now zero in past 10 days. I read somewhere that with new Pub, the only true arti drops will be from killing Cora (as was originally intended). Good Luck in the next few days, though!

Are you sure one was not in your bag from the last time you were there. I apeare to be droping an arite every 12 hours. The dungeon may only drop 2 arties a day, thats why some days your not getting any because someone else got it before you.

I am going in at 12 hour intervils from the time i drop my last artie and i get them within 15 mins of being in there. I have now dropped over 30 arities in this maner.

Level 4 is the Jail Cells Level 5 is Cora - of course they are actually the same level (one floor down from level 3) But if you look at Stratics level 4 is the Jail.

As for the Timer ??? I have never found a pattern on time, I have gotten two arties in a row from killing critters in Level 4 and non for days.

I gotta stress the fact that there is not a notice when you get a drop. If you are unraveling all the items you pick up, it is extremely easy to miss the drop while loading up your loot bag for unraveling. Additionally, the lenses are very hard to see and can be overlooked in your backpack for days if you are not careful. I had not been in covetous for a couple of days when I discovered a pair of glasses deep down in my backpack. The drop rate is low, I have about 25 drops in about a million points. The drops have not been evenly spaced. I have worked level three for a couple of weeks, getting nothing, then one day I got three drops in an hour.

Yes, I feared the same, but the Pub isn´t active on our servers, only on TC. Getting still VP-Points and had last drop 3 days ago.

I'm moving my way up the Atlantic leaderboard. Over 55K now. I did meet someone who got a brightblade on Sat morning on level 3 and someone else got a Hesphateus shield also on Sat. I got an Anti-Virtue drop... LOL. I'll keep working it.

I got a drop again (finally) after many many days of nothing. But it was just another shield. Not that I mind those but I think all my characters that need one now have one so it would be nice to get something else.

Continue fighting, you will get other stuff - that´s for sure. And remember the 1000-1300 Luck-Rule. Seems to give drops a boost. Dunno why...

Oh how i loved farming LvL3 for those Arties....i used to go there with my stealther/tamer/mage and my GD with around 1.1k luck using the cell block on the left - most drops i had there came with the reptile spawn an i noticed most of them came from the covetous wyrm which seems to be a kind of boss of that pack..i guess i will sneek in again tomorrow and see how the drops are now...since i got almost every drop there yet (and blessed the ones i can use) i got bored and stoped it...but since i still have to get the brightblade katana i will be there for a couple of hours lets see what the goods think about if they see me there again...in the end i surely get some deathrobes hehe

Yeah, I know. I was trying to collect the loot for unravelling so I kept my pack kind of full.

I was running with 600 luck from the luck statue. That was it. Maybe I will try to boost it a little bit as I continue to work level 3.

I had four goals in Covetous:

1. Collecting Relics - easy
2. Collecting Loot, especially Uber-Casting or -SSI-Jewelry - a bit harder
3. Getting Artie-Drops - as hard as 2.
4. Staying alive, not loosing Lord-Title (just for fun) - hardest.

Problem: Absence of Healers most of the time - hate running around searching. So I posited a Stealter at the entrance for quick ress....

Honestly, this revamp is awesome. Hope they make Cora easier (Pub 78) but don´t change Artie-Drop in Lvl 3.

Now looking forward to Despise: I don´t really need the other arties, but this quiver looks, mmmmh
