:whip: Back to the picnic
Anyone up for lawn darts? oh and for desert I was thinking ice cream floats and apple pie ala mode.
*last word on this subject then I am done arguing with anyone including the dev for a few months* When I read Jeff's post I read what I took to beleave was a escape of the problem, he cant help you or I with. Swtor was EA's last hurah that failed miserably, but I could have told them that.... they didnt want to see the facts of whats happening. Phone games, tablet, and handhelds are sweeping the field clean. UO's fan base has no clue we are still around... I talked to a old friend who works for a major webmag on gaming, about UO and the gaming world in general. His words were very fermiliar, All the producers need is to send to them updates or message blogs on things for the game like our changes to dungeons or the big bash for the 15th. It will get a mention if not a write up and request for more.
Old players have begun to show up, many of them are from before AoS!! They read about how UO is soon to go 15 years old...... They were shocked we were still around.
I would love to play UO till i croak.... I dont plan to croak for a long time.... ribbit ribbit...
I wonder how many of us still have our icq lists .... many of us had friends we played with on them... many had e mails and addys for them... perhaps if we invite them back. Now I am not saying tell them we are super new and give them a big hype but challenge them to come back and try the game of today. Lets see if that macho pvp player of old still has the touch.... goat him! What UO lost over the years is its community in game. Many left for good reasons, some needed to go for RL reasons that had little to do with UO personaly. But they are not sure they need to return because of well lack of news and friends...
I dont tweet/twitter/facebook quite frankly I see all those sites as a threat to my security. Reasons being we have become too open about our lives to the public that its frighting if any real threat came along they got you pinned and traped. But If you do and are friends with old players reach out to them.... ask them to give uo a last shot...
Jeff wants us to commit to a different UO.... I say I want us to commit to our UO.
They say it takes a village to raise a child well it takes one to grow so hey fellow uo villagers we need more growth so get your icq logs out your old friends list and just ask them to retry us come back to our UO. I'd like to show Jeff he is dead wrong and our UO is where he should have supported.
I had way before the northridge eq a set of very rare china, russian crystal stemware from before ww1, and gold plated sterling flatwear. I did not let them sit in some china cabinet collecting dust. They got used for birthdays, wedding feasts, hollidays, and for special dinners with family and friends. What I am getting at is this:
We tend to save things of value and vertualy let them rot in some china cabinet... of our life. We have friends, relitives, co workers that have been in our lives for ages. Ask your best bud to come share a ale with you in a brit pub... and slay a dragon later... Ladys your sewing circle needs to tailor in Luna .....
Chefs boy do i have a recipy book for you! gather up the family and challenge them to a race around UO.
EA dont care but we do. So stop the I'll close down my accounts if they dont do this.....
We need to support our habit if we are to keep our habit.
