How low can you go? Factions points and horses

It looks like you need two points to ride a faction horse.

I play my own game, no guildies, and run into 1v5 situations while in factions.

I'm negative in points...how deep am I? I killed someone for 12 points the other day and I was STILL negative.

Part of enjoying factions is the horse, I mean, the armor is accessible now with silver costs, but gimme a chance to pay less for my faction items by having a horse....a man loves his horse!

But again....how far below zero can you go?

With Publish 77 in July, they made 12 the maximum for faction point deficit. (It used to be 6.)

Boggles my mind that they would make all those changes to encourage (higher silver cost for chance at faction armor) and then make drop it to -12 ..... let me ride my horse! I never took the char to tram, and the rule change for use in tram with the armor was fine, but let me ride a damn horse!

No one in CoM playing on Napa was able to get past rank one. You could get positive points but something was/is so wrong with the system.

no i meant before that change, i thought 10 was the lowest, then they pushed it down to 10

If you go to the stone inside your base and declare yourself a merchant you can ride horses without faction points. (Unless they changed this too with all the other bad ideas)
There are several merchant skills available such as inscription or alchemy that will still allow for a playable pvp character even with the merchant status.

I think the notes for Publish 8 say the max deficit is 6.

Can you stone off the skill and still keep merchant status?

The merchant thing doesn't seem to work Flutter, unless you have to wait 24 hours after declaring to be able to ride the horse.

I don't think you can remove the skill and keep merchant status.
If it doesn't work anymore it was a recent change.
