Soulforges are to large ...

Hello Mr & Mrs UO

I wish me a much smaller and less ugly looking Soulforge. 4x4 Tiles is to large for 1 House AddOn and please make them look a little bit better. A 2x2 Tiles Soulforge would be big enough and i am sure that Players with small Houses would be really happy. Thank you ...

P.S: If you can't make it then i am sure Santa will not come to you this year ... :lick:

I've heard people have placed them on gaza mats and then used a deco tool to break them up. Apparently just having the anvil portion is all thats needed.

There's one on Chessie at the building just east of the Homare moongate. It has one anvil and the posts to either side sitting by the sw corner.

Yeah, it helps that you can put them on a different floor from where you will actually do your crafting. I usually put mine on the 3rd floor and do the imbuing on the 1st floor directly below it.

I'd never tried that. Used to live in a large tower with the soulforge on the roof's left wing and run up and down stairs. The z-axis must be a lot larger than the x/y are. I had plants straight above the first floor workshop.

What's it matter????

If you were really using it for it's purpose... then you wouldn't ever use one at home anyway... other than to check what ingredients you need before heading off to the Queen's forge to actually imbue stuff without wasting 100's of thousands of ingredients.

I use my home soulforge for all imbuing. I think 100's of ingredients is a bit over the top. Do you not imbue the most expensive item first and work down like that?

When using my home forge the last imbue always fails 99% of the time, but maybe only a couple of retries and its ok. It's simply down to the fact that I can just have all the ingredients in a box next to me and do everything in one hit.

Now if they made the soulforge so it also had container properties.....

I don't imbue enough to make the time to recall back & forth worth it. Unless someone's insurance screws up or they start a new character, no one really needs anything made. Most of my imbueings are just gear for my own characters as I make changes in their skills, or to restock a suit on a vendor I have in Luna when one sells.

A human on a home soulforge does the job for me.

I agree

100% of my imbueing is done at home as well. Rarely ever fail and on the last imbue it may be just 1 or 2 times before it is successful.

Wow such a waste. You get better items while unraveling... better chances while imbuing... and everything ever heard of planning ahead??

I gather everything I'm going to need load it only my beetle.... getting 2 to 300 of each gem, plus an overage of the relics, EE and MR I will need and head out to the Queens forge... where I craft whatever it is I'm going to taking full advantage of my Gargoyle loyalty and ability...

Crafting at home seems VERY lazy and wasteful. I see little to no point in it.

And Joey either your making weak stuff or you are lying. But most stuff I make goes all the way to 500.... and then I use the forge tool and enhance it.

I imbue 99% of my stuff at home. Hardly ever have any trouble(all 500 weight). To me loading up a beetle every time I want to imbue would be a huge waste of time consider how much stuff I imbue on a weekly basis. I think someone just woke up on the wrong side of the keyboard this morning!

I guess so but I do not do very much Bulk Imbuing. I use my crafter to make items for my fighers. Usually amounts to bows and jewels with the occasional piece of armor/repair deeds.

The very last imbue may fail more than 1 or 2 times, but it is not significant enough to warrant me packing up and heading to the queens SF.

Also to just make your head explode all together my crafter is a human. :p

I do all my imbuing at the queen's forge. I take bags of loot and unravel with a 0 skill human to filter out the magic residue at home. I then unravel the remaining items at the queen's forge using a 120 skilled gargoyle. All of my characters can recall or sacred journey...so using the home soulforge for finished products just seems lazy.

My first finished artificer is on Siege. There was no way I was going to be able to get her loyalty high enough to use the Queen's Forge for everything. She still can't use it after 1 1/2 years. I also don't particularly feel like gating in my hunting characters from all over the shard to the Queen's Forge just to unravel stuff. Plus there are some places on Siege you still can't gate to from Ter Mur, so if I do that, my characters who reside at one of my houses in Malas would be stranded in Ter Mur or have to gate to more than one location to be able to hop scotch their way home.

So....sometimes people do have reasons for not doing everything at the Queen's forge, other than "laziness."

Does anyone know how many relic fragments you "lose" doing your unraveling some place other than at the Queen's soulforge for a human 120 imbuing artificer? How significant is the amount of loss? For some reason, I had it stuck in my head that it was the actual process of imbuing that had a chance at going better if you used the Queen's soul forge, and not unraveling. I really thought location didn't matter for unraveling, but could very well be wrong.

I do both on a single piece.

Usually the first 2 mods imbued are over 100% chance, so I just do those at home. Then when the success chance drops below the point I'm comfortable, I just recall to the QS and finish it there.

The same applies for regular forges/anvils. You can make stuff with your blacksmith from another floor if you're standing right under or over the forge/anvil and you might be able to use a salvage bag to smelt or make blacksmithing repair deeds from a floor away as well (can't remember). I'm not sure if you can cook one floor straight above or below an elven oven, but it might be worth checking if your house is really dinky and you keep your cooking supplies on another floor. For making cloth, you do still have to be able to target the spinning wheel and loom.

Do all my imbuing at home - with a human crafter. NEVER lost anything expensive, made plenty of items up to 500 weight. I call it 'using it for its purpose'. Lol.

Edit: grammar.

I make a lot Mib's & T-Maps and i take all Stuff from those Chests and unravel all. So a Soulforge in my House is a need. :) I would use the Goza Trick to chop away the one or other Part but i rebuild my House to often and forget always to lock that last Soulforge Part down. :blushing:

I think most people use their soulforge. I never use the Queen's. What if I go there, fail a few times and run out of sapphires?

I do have one complaint with my 1 tile soul forge for some reason i cant alter anything while standing next to it. (kinda pisses me off because they are rare and expensive when you do find them) Wonder if this is a known problem or not?

Well the OP has a point. IF different sizes were available it would help out alot who dont have room for that monster big one. And the Dev should have known that little one was going to be better for the smaller house owners .... just shows you how attentive they are to the needs of the home owners

I use a human crafter at a home soulforge, and I craft and imbue everything I make there. The bonuses afforded by being a gargoyle and using the queen's forge is simply not enough for me to pack up a whole bunch of ingredients and make an outing to the queens forge every time I craft anything. Nearly everything I craft gets to as near 500 weight as possible.

Wasting ingredients is not a problem if you do the mods in the correct order. If you save a relic frag imbue for the last mod, that's a fool's move. Imbue relic frag mods first (the first mods are 100% anyway), then proceed with enchanted essence mods, and finally finish off with magical residue mods when your success chance is low. The only thing you waste at that point is residue and jewels. Jewels are easily looted - especially if you use the right client. If you aren't absolutely swimming in residue (30k+) that you have left over from training, you did it wrong. Special ingredients such as essences are not used by failures.

The ONLY thing I will pack up and bring to the queen's forge is items that unravel to relic frags. These are the only things I loot specifically to unravel - again, not a problem to quickly identify and loot if you use the right client. Your success rate when you unravel these things keeps you stocked with enchanted essence and relic frags. With those tips, you should never have to buy ingredients ever again, so don't worry about the paltry amount you "waste" by imbuing at home.
