I am interested in joining SP because I'm growing tired of the monotony. However, I don't really want to take forever to make a new character template/skills. Therefore, is there some sort of template I could make quickly using skills like focus/med/etc. that raise quickly? Thanks.

Siege is alot of fun. Worth the trouble so far.
Well, I guess I was kind of hoping to make a template that didn't require equipment... er, if possible. Yeah, I'm not crazy about losing all my armor when dying so I was wondering if there was a template for meee... a guy who is going from a production shard to a scary shard but doesn't want to worry about losing his suit each time he dies. Thanks ^_^
Not everyone dry loots you. I'm a thief that mostly ooOoo's and sometimes steals. And mostly I'm PK'ed but not looted. So how about ninja thief hiding stealther wrestler Mage. Disarms steal fireball maybe instead of wrestling a weapon skill and support skills to deathstrike? And go naked stealther. With animal form for running away! There is so much freedom on Siege once you realize your not depndant so much on armor because you only have junk armor to lose!
Yeah and really on Siege it is a good idea not to get too attached to your stuff. Unless you run around in maxed out suits most of it is cheap to replace anyway. I mean there is a guy that sells basic lrc suits for under 12k I think at yewgate and otherwise you can find cheap non lrc basic leather suits for just a few thousand. So if you donlt care about all 70s in resist and a bunch of other mods it is super easy and cheap to requip here.
Not a good shard for the lazy or the honorable. At least right now there is a guild that is pigging out on everything in the game, stalking people and launching personal attacks consistently. Best not to bother setting up a home until they learn to play reasonably. At this point I don't think any newbie characters have a chance.

Naw, there are a couple of clowns, but they are kinda of dim and easy to handle. Good for a few laughs. You will get PKed here but most of the PKs are cool about it. Good thing about Siege is you dont need mega bucks to gear up. People dont usually run suits that are too expensive. Most try to find that happy point between cost vs. effectiveness.
I am an honorable newb (relatively) and have done pretty well here. You just have to not let people get to you. The smack talkers here are really poor at it though, so its not hard. Ive seen better chat PvP on a political forum.
Yeh.. Look out.. People like to cry in general chat alot over nothing and pretend they know everything.
I suggest buying stock in Kleenex before attending Siege, as all people do in Gen Chat is whine and cry. Maybe avoid it all together? People just look to whine about anything and especially when they die and lose their items.
Just don't invest too much time or gold into things here... the gaggle of seafaring types (eyes Rumpy) are disorganized and childish. It'll probably be better once they turn on each other and fizzle out, which should be soon.

I should also note that we have helped many new players. I know I personally have helped and been kind to many new people. I am nice to people in general. However if you trash my guildmates or my guild in general chat yes I will say something. Or are we supposed to shut up be quiet? Other then maybe a bit of rib jabbing I donlt really participate in trash talk though.

Perhaps they use more self control when you are around Kiasa. I know a few arrr are now Zyn haters, and thats fine. I fully expected it. But any and all grief that they recieved today was intiated by them and not once by me; unless you count merely playing a thief provocation. This is Siege, if you are going to dish it out, learn to take it. Funny how I am the newb yet I keep finding myself having to remind a couple of them of this paramount fact. I hold no ill will towards anyone who was hating on me, I really had a great time today. But I will always make sport of them when they say dumbass stuff in chat. No hard feelings intended.
Siege isn't that scary...just pick your spots. Run with throw-away horned or barbed gear/jewelry and if you get toasted just buy some more. Get a good weapon from somebody based upon what template is and bless it. You can get mad gains in places like the Jhelom cemetary at lower skills and make some decent GP and also get some loot.

No shame in supporting your crew. I actually like many of arrr. Bo has been extremely knowledgable and helpful. Although maybe when he gets back he will hate on me too. Would be unfortunate, but understandable.
I'm in my own guild. But GIL GM Hoff sucks, so stay away from them if you can help it. O-S is Cool.
I don't know what goes on at the moment, but someone need to grow up and spamming the General Chat with trash talk. Special Jamie need to get his coolness back, because right now, he sounds like 12 years old. It's sad as I know he can do better.

I agree Jamie probably does need to cool down Freja however just so you know last night and in previous night he hasn;t been the only one trash talking. I have one returning player, 2 graduated, who are not ready to fly (to little playtime) and 2 big brothers who can joun new players but don't want to be leaders. None of this 5 are allowed to show the [NEW2] tag, they are however allowed to show the sub title, so you can see what they are doing in NEW2. They are not protected of the tag and can be killed just like the leaders.
If there are other old Siege players, I do not know about them.

I agree this started off as a nice calm thread trying to help a new person then bam someone had to trash talk then it all went down hill.
To the OP I hope you do still decide to try Siege many new people come here and do just fine.

I agree to that, so I added this new rules to help returning and slow growing players to hang out with new members. When they do not feel alone and get help understanding all the changes sinse they last played, it will help them to stay and find a real guild. They can also help the youngest at hunts or if they dye to monsters.
We have 29 young at the moment, not counting the ones not showing tag.

I am surprised he didn't go all caps, lol. And the others, well they got VERY nasty, like downright hateful. It was a riot. I forgive them all though, it is just a game after all. People sometimes get emotional and I have a way of getting under peoples skin sometimes. If they get gratification from my attention, thats fine with me. I dont poke fun at chat trolls for their sake or to "teach them a lesson". I do it for my own enjoyment. Maybe thats why they were so rabid? They are used to ppl getting angry and emotional, not using them for sport and having a good time at their expense.

This "bickering" is the kind of thing that keeps Siege going. It's been a staple of Siege's forums for years. Forum PvP is just as important to this shard as ingame PvP, actually. It's when "bickering" becomes personal that mods should intervene. I haven't seen anything in this thread against the RoC, has anyone else?

We've *always* been the cool kids on the block.
Nothings been swiped from under my feet Rumpy. Hoffs started the guild long ago, the hands of leadership have changed from time to time. On paper, I'm the GM. I've tried to hand it back to Hoffs a few times. Gilfane is not run by a single person, but by a tight leadership group of which Hoffs is part of. But, Hoffs is not the end of the line where the leadership is concerned. Hoffs is however a senior guild leader and highly respected by the guild and when I'm not around, which is often lately while I'm studying for exams, he's one of several of the go to guys for the group. We do have an extensive chain of command and decision making process which is outlined in detail on our web site.
Regardless, I'm just trying to figure out why Puck was slandering the guild without any information to back it up, and if he's had some sort of negative run in with anyone in Gilfane, I'd like to know about it.

There is nothing extensive about GIL anymore! Even you silly little website has outdated maps of what structures are still around. You are one or two people strong if that at any one time, and I'll put Rumpy's reputation on the line that he could PK your whole guild in one swing. (like how I threw them in there?) heck I'll put bounty out on all GIL...what's your value to me? 5k for each GIL killed and dry looted plus another 2k for a grief Rex kill (just one) and screen pics on here to prove it. For one week starting Now! Hoff is worth 20k to me and I want his gear to prove it! Cheers! Happy hunting
