I would like to have a Bank Check Book too, cause it is unfair that my Bankbox is full of Gold, which i can't spend on Items, since i have all that i wanted. And while you create those Books, can you please make a Book for Treasure Maps & Waterstained SoS too? I would be ultra happy.

but vendors hold 2 biliion checks....no lockdowns needed......so why penalize any lockdowns for bank checks...
I think we are long past hurting the economy at this point. I believe checkbooks would only serve as a convenience.
Yes totally agree. Or even a credit based system!! Well, your gold is just stored in the bank using 1 space, whatever amount the maximum is. Every time you buy something it deducts from this amount. No need for cheques etc.
or bigger checks, why haven't they upped the size? 10m would be a good start. Is it to do with duping or some kind of hack?

I actually see a book for Treasure Maps & Waterstained SoS more a priority than one for cheques....
Often players do not do Treasure Maps & Waterstained SoS as they come but they simply collect them as they are hunting and, eventually, when they feel like, they do them a good number all in the same game session or in a few subsequent ones, only, that by them (when the time comes that they feel doing them...) they have filled their secures taking up precious storage space..... Besides, while gold can be stored on vendors and so there is a somewhat work around to store large amount of gold, there is no work around whatsoever to store more conveniently larger amounts of Treasure Maps & unopened Waterstained SoSes........
So, if a book has to come I think it should be first one for Treasure Maps & Waterstained SoSes.......and only then one for cheques.
On bank cheques books, I am also undecided because while I see them a conveniency for large figures trades which would no longer require a broker as it would be possible to get past the 125 cheques limitation, I am afraid that such an added conveniency could further increase inflation which can be a big problem for a new or returning player who needs to "catch up" with existing players before being competitive....

I do not save Treasure Maps, I just trash them in the trash barrel. I do not have a need for Waterstained SoS's since I do not fish. I either trash or give away 90% of everything I get...
So dear UO... Maybe a blessed spellbook that can hold my bank cheques! So I can carry my gold where ever I may wonder off to on my sight seeing trips throughout the lands of Sosaria... And make mine a special hue that no one else can have...

The check book is a excellent idea. It would alllow buyinng and selling hi dollar items on other than pure faith. Which is why we have secure trading windows nowadays (to cut out on scams) as it currently stands you have to be trustfull the guy your dealing with will give you the item or house after u transfer 124 million at a time to him.Or un the same hand that if transfered in first batch the buyer will pay the remainder owed. Bottom line stop the scammers and give us check books for large transactions.
Or, instead of complicating the process further, just allow checks for values greater than 1m.
Or, instead rub the left and right brain cell together and allow gold to be withdrawn off vendors when buying from vendors buy any character on the account. Home buying would still be a pain that would require a broker or high value item/s to make trading work.
There are timer quest items already in the game. Have an NPCs in the game that sell a 50 mil gold item that only they buy back. Put a few hours on the timer so can shuffle gold for that prime spot house buy. Timer runs out or character logs out gold goes to holders bankbox to cover those WTF moments.

I was thinking about gold recently, and I came to the conclusion that at the time of launch, it made sense that gold have weight and take up space in the form of lockdowns and item counts.
However, after 15 years, the AoS revoluion, and all the items and collectables released since, I think it's time we completely removed the archaic gold storage model and upgrade.
I think it's time we do what Diablo 3 does - Whenever a character loots gold off a monster, that gold is tied to the account and shard, meaning the gold for all of your characters is always available to all your characters, doesn't take up space, and can be easily transferred without checks.
Time for one old concept to take it's place in the annals of history, IMO. Likely never happen though.

so true....OUR .uo as not got ANY SORT OF ECONOMY ANYMORE...JUST PLAYERS WITH EVENT ITEMS SELLING FOR MILLOINS...NAY BILLIONS..AND PEOPLE HAVE SOO MUCH GOLD STASHED THEY CAN PAY billions for silly trinkets ..just because they have so much.......gottA VOTE YES HERE
Same thing here.
I still think that gold should exist in a physical form, but I fail to see the point of limiting bank checks to 1 million, or to not have a book that would consolidate the value of all checks placed within.
There's no way to hurt the economy further with this change.

If you have so much money, I will gladly take some off your hands. I have 120 000 gold! I don't even use bank checks to make it look like more than it really is.Why is such a useful book not on UO yet? Would it be that hard to make a book that could store bank cheques? I mean we have them for BODs, SoTs, and SoAs... I think it is about time!
