Help me catch up: what are the current pieces of equipment I should be wearing?

Hey all,

I've been out of the game a while, and it's time to update my equipment.

What are the current popular pieces folks are using?

Is the crimson cincture the favorite for any character ?

What are mages using? Are ornys and hat of the magi still favorites?

Tamers? About the same as mages?

Sampires and dexxers?

Bards?

Not sure how long you have been away, but the Stygian Abyss expansion has some great new items. A few worth mentioning are the Protector of the Battlemage, Tinkerlegs, and Tangle. Highseas also introduce some nice pieces... Kelp leggings, Coral Braclet and Ring of the Soulbinder.

Overall I would say there are only a few new properties like casting focus. Suits are very much the same from a "requirements" standpoint, there are just more variations of how to get there. With the new artis, reforging, and the forged metal tool for enhancement you will find that the top end suits do manage to get more extras in them than they used to though.

I don't really see how that advice is useful... honestly, why bother posting it? Of course I'm going to wear what I want, need and can get my hands on. The problem is that, like I mentioned, I've been away from the game for some time... I don't know what my options are. Perhaps you're not aware if you've been around the whole time, but a LOT has changed since I last played, and I'm spending a lot of time playing catchup to understand everything. Hearing what people are using shows me what people have found most useful out of all the released stuff, so that I have a much smaller list to digest. Why would I reinvent the wheel when there are those that have been here to sort through the good and bad that can simply point me in the right direction?

Because I assumed stuff. Maybe I shouldn´t have, but I did.
I´ve seen your name here for a few weeks so I assumed you´d heard about imbuing and the re-vamped dungeons by now. I also assumed that you knew how to use Stratics to search for information. And if my assumptions were right then my advise still stands as a good one. My bad maybe...
