There are people still willing to help, I would first suggest you send an email to [email protected] explaining in as much detail as you can what happened. If you don't hear back from that in a day, send me a PM, I'll help you escalate it.

Poo yes dear the GM's did when it was warrented replace skill points to players who were bugged. If a player had to be reset or have the original deleted the GM's did "fix" the new replacement. I am not sure about if the owner hit the right key on the stone.... another question is does anyother house member play on that account?

I have NEVER seen a GM replace ANYTHING. Even when they themselves are the ones that accidentally destroyed my item not ONCE have they EVER replaced anything.

Skills don't magically disappear from soulstones. Lets face it, you accidentally deleted it at one point and never realized it.

Sorry for your loss but I also agree with promathia, you somehow deleted the skill instead of transferring it. I have NEVER heard of a skill falling off a soul stone, If it was a bug out there I am sure we would have seen it before. I konw people with over 100 stones and never has this happened.

The thing to think about here is that if this had happened in WoW, even if it was due to error or an accident on the part of the user, and no game bug was involved at all, the skill would have been replaced by now.

Good thing this isn't WoW.:arr: I wouldn't have to train anything I could just claim ignorance and clumsiness and get all decked out.:loser:

Hey I just, cashed my paycheck but I mistakenly put the envelope in the shredder, can you pay me my money back?:gee:

*raises hand* I am one of those people... I have well over 100 on Atlantic and 60+ on 4 other shards and yes: I have had skills disappear - but only under one of two specific circumstances.

1.) I accidentally flushed the skill by deleting it from a Soulstone.
2.) I accidentally set the skill down - then grabbed a new skill from a 2nd stone without putting the first skill on a stone before getting the 2nd skill. The 2nd skill was added and the first skill (set to lower) deleted to make room for the 2nd skill.

Bugs do happen and I guess it is possible that it just disappeared - but I'd assume that's a very very low probability. Most likely it was one of the two reasons I gave above.

Sorry for your loss though - I know how painful some skills can be to retrain.

The gm's gave me 1.8 mil back after I bought a ring and bracelet off of a vendor that ended up being fake via exploit. So they can replace things, but it was many years ago when the customer service in this game was still decent. These days the GM's are probably less supervised which means they can do less work for the same pay (just my theory)

This is really not a valid comparison. WoW has logs to track every action your character makes. UO does not. So a GM has very little proof of what actually happens and they can't be expected to replace things based solely on what a player claims to have happened. That's pretty much common sense.

That's unfortunate. I've seen several instances of GMs replacing items lost due to bugs or exploits. I've also seen them pull speed hackers or scripters into jail. I've also seen them ban players guilty of harassment. Maybe you're wording your GM pages wrong?

Your lucky. My case the soul stone skipped with the skill. Experience taught me not try or get excited. I'd blame those damn gypsies if it happened during their stealing spree.

I knew this response was coming from someone. And, as predicted, it succeeded in missing half of my point: UO is a failure for not having such a system in place, especially given that they've had 15 years to implement it.

Sadly i bet you flushed the skill yourself. I may or may not been drunk one night and i convinced myself that i once flushed a gm cartographer away in a soulstone.

I accidentally flushed 120 stealing trying to get it on my character. Was a super bummer, but whatever, just raised it back up again. It would be nice if they had some kind of log for this, but they don't so I didn't expect it to be replaced. Just learn from my mistake and don't let it happen again.

I didn't miss your point, it's just not a valid one. The development time it would take to implement such a system would be far more costly than not being able to replace someone's accidentally deleted item. I think that's what they call "logic" in the big kid world, ask your parents.

Oh, and calling something a failure because it doesn't meet your personal standard is like wearing a t-shirt that says "don't waste your time listening to my opinion." And considering you pay money to play a game you consider a failure, that says a lot about you, doesn't it?

I have lost soo much good stuff in game due to simple mistakes -it happens and not once did i think someone should give it back to me.If u made a mistake and lost something in rl who's gonna give it back?No one and thats how i feel it should remain in game.I like how uo feels more like a real world to me than any other game and in the real world god doesnt come down and fix our mistakes for we just learn from them.Your situation if it was caused by a bug defo sucks and should be looked into...but as everyone else has said its a bug no one else knows about so it really seems u must have made some simple mistake. It happens i been playing forever and it still happens to me...
