Are Spellweaving skill points available on any Talisman?

Since Spellweaving can not be Imbued on Jewelry, are there any items that add Spellweaving points?

I wished there were more skills like Spellweaving that cannot be "worn" with items......

Real skills should matter way more than they currently do, IMHO.

I think that the reason might be because you can't train spellweaving without taking the quest, but that's only my guess.
As for herding, as far as I know, I believe you can't imbue skills that don't go over GM?

It's all rather a mess, why some skills can/can't be imbued, some can be on talismans but not all, why some can be capped at 120 but not all, why some items take you over the 100 'cap' even if you have not read a powerscroll to raise that cap....

All skills are overdue a serious amount of thinking and redesign.

Spellweaving is the red headed stepchild of skills.

# You can never 'start' with 50 points in it.
# You have to do the quest before you can even start it.
# Once you have done the quest you cannot 'train' with a trainer as you can other skills.
# You get a spellbook with 2 spells upon completion of the start quest, then other spells require another 2 quests and the rest (12 spells) need to be hunted off high end ML monsters as they cannot be inscribed (or purchased of player vendors if you can find them).
# there is no + spellweaving skill on any item and none can be imbued.
# there are no spellweaving books with any other bonus's ie ssi, lrc etc as for mage/necro books
# to use the skill effectively you MUST group with at least one other player for a focus but generally if you want maximum efficiency you need another 4-5 to make it really worth it.

No other skill in the game has this many added requirements to be able to be used effectively.

Still, I put it on as many characters as I can fit it on due to the positives the skill has, even if it does suck to train it up. I wish a few more skills in game were a bit harder to train or had a few more requirements. Just having trained another 6 chars on a new shard, Spellweaving is still one I am getting to 120, even tho have done tailor, smith, imbue, lockpick, stealth, hide, etc etc in 1/2 the time. Taming would be the only skill i consider worse to train these days.

WOW!
MissEcho I guess I hadn't given Spellweaving enough thought in advance - or I might have reconsidered creating my Weaver. I didn't realize SW was so different than ANY other offensive combat skill... Each of your points above makes SW really due for some love from the Devs, especially when you consider this one point:

to use the skill effectively you MUST group with at least one other player for a focus but generally if you want maximum efficiency you need another 4-5 to make it really worth it.
It's hard enough on most shards to get players to an arcane circle, but considering that all of them MUST be within 20 points of each other - makes the need for jewelry skill points vastly more important than any other combat skill!

Come on Devs, show us weavers some love....
Just sayin..........

Simple if your at 120 skill. Stone the skill get 4 mates who are human do a lvl 6 circle. Go back home and put your 120 back on your char and you now have a lvl 6 crystal for your 120 weaver

Do the "mates" you speak of need to have taken the SW quest?

i dont think so, im sure you get 20 points from JOLT. But you cant use SW untill you done teh quest. But im sure a circle is able to be done without it

I'm sure that's right - one of the many paradoxes of UO, you can't use the skill since you didn't do the quest to 'unlock' it, but the game counts you as having it anyway for the purposes of the circle. Only one person needs to 'cast' the spell, the others just need to be there in the circle with a skill level within 20 of the caster....
