- There are four rewards available in both human gargoyle versions where applicable. The type of reward you receive is based on the race of the player who turns in the preparations.
- Tier 1 – Sash recognizing your achievement
- Tier 2 – Asclepius
- When equipped during a complete healing cycle, the staff will provide a 20% bonus to damage healed using bandages.
- Tier 3 – Hygieia’s Amulet
- When equipped Hygieia’s Amulet gives a 15% bonus to Alchemy.
- Tier 4 – Bracers of Alchemical Devastation
- Occupy the Sleeve Armor slot
- Hit Fireball 40% damage based on Wrestling or Anatomy & Evaluating Intelligence
- Mana Regeneration 5
- Faster Cast Recovery 3
- Physical Resist 15%
- Fire Resist 10%
- Cold Resist 10%
- Poison Resist 10%
- Energy Resist 10%
- It is possible to get all four rewards if you are among the top contributors during the event and any combination thereof (Tier 3, 2, and 1, or Tier 2 and 1, or Tier 1 only).
- It is also possible to not receive anything if your contributions are not on par with the distribution of other contributors.

I'm under the impression that the rewards will be received at the end of the event in August. I want them!

Thanks for that info, guess i just don't have a clue about anything with the Awakening event.
All I know is I'll be sad when I have nothing but a sash or less, haha.
Making this "event" (and I use that word sarcastically) a competition was very poor game design. It will only reward the scripters and people with no real life commitments who can sit there and churn out cures all day. Rewards should have been like the Ricardo and Abyss house quest system, turn in say 5-10 cures and get a random prize, or they could have tired the rewards to the number of cures an individual turned in. Such as 10-20 = sash, 21-40 = Asclepius, 41-70 = Amulet, 71-100 = Bracers. This way, people could have a set goal in mind, not a nebulous moving target.
Someone on Europa said they've done 400 cures. If they turn them in on one character, then essentially, THEY have potentially screwed the rest of their shard by throwing off the curve.

Here we go again, everyone had the same chance to get ready for this, but most did not and is now moaning that its unfair.
Why should people that have put in the time and people that havent get the same rights to get top items?
400 cures is good, i wont say how many i have done but its more than that.
People that prepaired for this deserve the top items, lazy people that couldnt even to be bothered to read the patch notes (in june) that get put in your face everytime you log in, dont moan, just learn by your mistake and take more notice in future?
This quest is fair and should not be changed like the slimes in the sewer just because of lazy people because that will annoy the people that have done a lot and prepaired for this.

Uncertainty when it comes to Quest reward is the issue at hand here. Someone that plays this game for a living will definitely have a distinct advantage over all other players.
If you think all the item selling sites are not cranking out cure just so they can sell it on their web site for hundred of real life $$$$ then you are kidding yourself.
How is it fair when the chance of quest reward is based on your play time........

I dont play much atm (sun in UK is rare and i like it) so only have/do an hour or so each day on this.

That is absolutely untrue. The only way to POSSIBLY have gotten the headstart some have, was to read the patch SPOILERS posted by a user here in an old thread. Anyone who read that had a month+ headstart to farm every ingredient.
Exactly and anyone and everyone else who isn't a scripter or horder will not have a snowballs chance in hell of getting anything but a sash.... Especially those who don't read Stratics and check for spoilers. Those who never read stratics or even look at the log-in splash screen are totally buggered.
Most people don't even know this "event" is going on. Even when the EMs brought their events to the village (as has happened on multiple shards), it didn't register with most people or they didn't care. If you didn't start preparing when vanilla and slimes went live you're at a severe disadvantage (fortunately, I was not one of those people). If you're starting the event now, you're royally screwed.
While it should pay to be prepared in some respect, being able to screw over your shard shouldn't ever be it.

I was prepared ahead of time and got a fast start. Unfortunately when i thought about the possibility of ending up with nothing after all that hard work, i slowed down making cures. Then i just completely stopped making em. I am still saving up ingredients but the lack of information is discouraging. If you are going to make it a competition, the least you can do is have a scoreboard.

The best thing people could do is talk to others participating in this "event" on their shard and agree to a set number of cures so the group can manipulate the curve. If everyone is trustworthy and the number of cures is low enough, more people could participate.
That's what I'm talking about... This is community at work. But you know there is always some sap that feels the need to ruin things for everyone else.
I'm thinking that in the end there is going to be a bunch of really upset people.

Count me in that group. Sadly I won't be able to play the next two months so there's zero chance of catching/keeping up.
You could get one crop of sugar/vanilla if you were willing to sacrifice your sanity grinding all your cures in just a few days. (Something I don't advise)

Ok, I am lazy: Working from 08 in the morning to 06 in the evening, after that taking care for my 2 years old boy and my wife. When I switch on my PC, it´s usually 8 p.m. and I have to leave at about 10 p.m. because the next working day has to be prepared and the little boy will be awake at about 5-6 in the morning. So, yes: I cannot make curse for poor gargolyes all the day. Call me lazy. Fine. Don´t ask me, how I call you. The moderators would have to delete my post instantly because of manifest impoliteness...

Well, then was your prior comment rather misleading - otherwise you wouldn´t have provoked so much criticism. And it is still a point, that making this chapter of the Arc competitive is a mistake (the reasons have been desripted above by many contributors). But we can stop the discussion, sure... My $10 a month is just as good as another players $10 a month. Now if one player may get a few hours a day compared to the UO plant that plays 16+ hours a day or BOTs on the side. It comes down to putting very useable items in the game and everyone doesn't get the same shake at a reward. Compounded by new content being on test for UO plants to pick at it for the answers or unreported weakness glitch. Players that pay the same but don't have those extra 10 hours a day to play you call lazy far out number the UO plants. UO is in the state it is today making the game a second job or have to cheat to keep up. If it is not fun for all they find a better way to enjoy their time and $10. Keep the RNG deciding players fate and not some scale tipping factor. The sleeves drop would see greater fan fare if 1 in 25000 lizardmen gave the reward. At least I would be building up needed spine leather if I never got a drop. For the UO plants killing a million mob the RNG would reward them with about 20. And for the GM with half a brain they would have a good chance to burn BOT farmers possibly where lizardmen spawn (wouldn't hold your breath on that one)
As an ex UO plant that may get a few hours a night if at all now. I spend that time doing what I find fun. For most that falls into filling BODs and grinding gathering or hunting for a chance to get an item to improve some characters suit. Ya a near decade old BOD reward system is a no brainer fix. There is a load of crap in the game that could be updated instead of thinking up new crap. If the thinkers of UOs design was doing boob implants. They wouldn't improve on whats there but toss them on the back and think thats a winner. Only those that sell 4 cup front back bras an a few freaks will enjoy it.

everyone pays to play this game. some can be on more than others. that doesnt mean they are lazy.
Theses sleeves are beneficial to many players. this event the way it is structured guarantees one thing. these sleeves will cost a tremendous amount of gold for those who cannot attempt to put in the time to do the event. i have a big problem with this. if this was a deco item i wouldnt care. basically these sleeves will be a rare. it is unbelievable that the dev's will allow a functional item for many players to be a rare. its also unbelieveable that the event is such a horrendous and what may be a pointless grind to attempt to obtain such a nice item.
the conjurers garb event was nice, despite you could get griefed turning in your crystals. the trinket and grimoire event was nice as you could log on and have an equal shot at getting the items. the dreadmare event might have been the coolest as you had to dismount the rider and than tame the animal. these were fun things to do. fun = game. fun to play = more people playing.
this event is not fun. its a grind..... and one thats not on a level playing field.

Oh, you should be able to see notes and stuff from the game. Looks like its time to replace the laptop.......
I'm just guessing, but could the fact that you don't see the most recent publish/patch notes when you go through the log-in process be related to which Internet browser you're using?
lol cant be hardware thats for sure - i play on several computers, oldest is 3 years, newest 1 month (tec-wise)

Check the settings for whatever browser you do use. I think you might have to allow running scripts or Active X controls for that particular page (for me, using the Classic Client, it's stored as part of the UO program files as C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Ultima Online Classic\notes\english\readme.html but I'm not sure that's the actual URL when you are logging in) in order to be able to see current patch notes. Maybe someone who's more familiar with this sort of stuff can give you a better answer, but I suspect the reason you don't see the patch notes is because you somehow opted out of something with respect to your Internet browser program.

I had that same problem that you have, and I had to reinstall the client I order for it to work........ Now I can see the notes and stuff. On the other hand, I would not worry about it since I see that you are a "season veteran" which means you practilly live I the forum and are well informed of the surroundings.....

My post didn't quote anyone. But I think you're right. Clean is good. Sometimes when I don't play UO, I shower.
If X percentage of the participating players are given each tier of rewards, maybe we can game this system by having as many characters as possible hand in 1 cure. The more participants, the more sleeves are handed out, giving even people that handed in a lower amount of items a chance to obtain one.
That is assuming they're using a percentage based system, if it's a fixed number per shard, then it sucks even more, as then the goldsellers and other nefarious scum that always exploits low population shards gets the candy this round.

BOD reward boost. 1 in 25000 chance to get a one use recipe to make the sleeves. Just make sure crafter name is on theese set crafted items. Bring back the number matching game where two recipes need to be DCed and target the other to be activated for one use. use color matching instead of numbers. Allows for one to be locked down for targeting to avoid griefing. Or an NPC drop where the matching recipe needs to be dropped in a minute to get activated ones returned or just get yours back at fail.

This whole event has been a shambles from the start. +5 stat scrolls given out to a small % of each shard and now these sleeves are going to be given to even fewer people.
I truly hope some one dupes these so that everyone can get a pair.
By the time I found out about the event that’s going on, someone had already turned in 400 cures on Europa. Leaving me and others feeling as if there was no point in even starting. So I didn’t even bother when some one has such a head start.

Yep I found out about this event yesterday, am on Europa too.
Maybe I can turn in 50 cures tops with the time remaining (got two garden beds full of seeds, maybe they are in time, maybe not).
In my opinion, they should give the top contributers a guaranteed drop, and everyone else a CHANCE to get them based on the amount of cures handed in.
