Let's talk about Cora...

There has been a good bit of discussion on the Void Pool and the waves of monsters. But there has been very little on the new boss of Covetous. The developer's revealed background to understand her appearance in the patch notes, but said nothing of substance about the actual in-game encounter. For those of you that have challenged her on TC or on Origin, we'd love to hear your experiences.

These are some of the things I'd like to know about the fight with Cora:
- What is her lowest resist?
- Is she vulnerable to a specific slayer?
- Does she have any special moves or attacks?
- What templates seems to work best against her?
- What is her re-spawn timer?

Oh, also ignore the comments about the drop/her being a waste of time. This was before we found out about the ephemeral mod on the turnin arties, and before the arties got redone.

Stratics has a brief entry on her...the problem is she is a human, and so you can't animal lore her. Prom's victory is the only one I know about other than the TC1 gank which occurred during the "Wayback Wednesday" stream.

I tried to kill Cora on Origin with two other mages. We failed due to Cora's multi-target elemental breath. It'll be an annoying fight for range chars because of the area breath attack coupled with the teleport-to ability, and the fight will cater dexxer tank-types like how Prom ended up doing it, with healers perhaps earning rights just for healing.

Cora's entire outfit is blessed:

What I believe happened was she turned-in all of her very best items to obtain bless deeds via Clean Up Brit, then slapped the bless deeds onto otherwise worthless armor just to tease us. In all seriousness though, I wonder if disarm would help or hurt.

if she's human can't we just add up all of her armors to see the total resist? the only problem is we don't know if she wears any ring/bracelet under her gloves....

I'm going to assume--treating the joke as something I can solve--Cora has at least 120 Magic Resist, which would put her at 44 across. Pinco discovered creatures on LVL 4 that had 160 in some skills, I think, and if that were the case--and the formula stayed true--perhaps Cora could have 52 across. ;P

That might be a Promathia question, hehe. I'm sure he tried Repond, and the regular slayers.

Does Cora have anti-life leech ability to negate those in vamp form and others using curse weapon?

Does she attack a target and stay on it, or will she standoff like Neira or Baracoon?

we don't know if she wears any ring/bracelet under her gloves....

These should fall to the corpse? and Maybe she gets jewelery on Both hands?
Since she will reappear, should all blessed items poof at that time and re-equip on her new body?

I think that would be very unusual. We have to remember that she is a monster, not a red player. I highly doubt she ressurrects and has to loot her own corpse. It will be a respawn of an entirely new Cora.

Like Prom mentioned earlier, Cora's lightning attack taps mana, so bandage cross healing should be more useful than a sampire or a mana-dependent setup. Not sure about life leech. Will need max hit points, discord, and some nice cross healing.

She gets right up on ya. The Vortex Elementals and rat assassins or whatever (archers) will stop at a distance, though (LVL 2, 3, perhaps 4).

Forgive me as I haven't read alot about Cora.

Is it a Peerless or free for all type boss?

If it's a free for all I can imagine that place is going to be packed when it's first released and has anyone noticed the time between respawns?

She is pretty much like Navrey or Tyball's Shadow, you can reach her location after passing through several monsters. The spawn is not instant yet didn't take too long either, again like Navrey.

I'm looking forward to Cora and the rest of Pub 76 hitting Atlantic. I'm going to try three melee chars with her and see which one works best.

- Sampire with 120 Resist
- Stone Form Mystic Dexxer (built to hang with Slasher)
- Wraith Warrior (Wammy)

The Sampire puts out the most damage, but it completely dependent on big hits to live. The SF Mystic Dexxer doesn't hit hard, but can survive a beating with bandages, healing stone, and pots. But I have a sneaking suspicion that the Wammy might be the best bet. If Cora has a huge mana pool then he'll leech mana with every hit and, provided no anti-life leech ability, can heal using curse weapon. This should be interesting to test out. I'm betting on Atlantic being crowded at first so I can jump in the action and test templates, slayers, and other tactics. At least that is my plan... and we all no plan survives contact with the enemy...

I'll be there the day she is on Atlantic, either on my sampires, tamer or bard. If I am on my bard- she's 4x 120 and will be there mostly as support just to help people kill her.
