I love seeing threads like this, despite how inexpensive an item may be I enjoy reading about these threads. Reminds me of the items we used to use quite frequently that most of us now probably take for granted.

Yeah, I agree. I wish we could take 10 boomsticks and turn them into something useful once again.

well, you can hold it while you're herding if you want to. As long as you have a proper crook in your pack.
Been a while that I herded all the dragons to the fel destard door. All good if the crook no longer has to be held. My memory is not getting worse just my interest.
To the op: there is no legal search engine to find or compare prices. I take it you are rather new to the game. The friendly posters in this thread rather self inflate their ego's than help. They will next suggest you run around and check vendors. A boomstick is a great tRaining item, but not worth a lot. 75k or so. Do what 90% of UO players do and google for search engines for UO. It will take you years otherwise to figure out the price points of items like that.

Dont laugh but the price is all over the place depending on where you shop. 30k on asian shards up to 2.5mil on legends! But the median price is about 75 to 125k high end normaly is 200 to 300 k Having vendors on alot of shards helps know the going rate for this stuff. hehe hope this helps u

Alternatively you could just ask for a price check on forums (like you did) or ask players ingame.

Asking for prices of common items on a forum.... Let's try that for a while, and then just resort to search engines like everyone else. Let's not pretend that 15 years have not passed.... And in game, when you ask someone, they will look it up for you,mso you can continue to pretend to be pure and righteous.

Since they are so common why would somebody need to look it up on a search engine? I haven't bought or sold a boomstick for years but I can still tell you they are worth about 80k on my shard. Knowing the market for items on your shard isn't about being pure and righteous, if everyone used search engines for price checks then players who own Luna vendors would effectively control the market and can set whatever ridiculous price they want, which people would be forced to pay.
Recently I stumbled across an obviously new character in the Moonglow forests struggling to learn how to play a mage. After a nice chat and plenty of mage-related questions answered, the newbie received a brand new Boomstick. Price: Free.
A few months earlier a player was asking to buy Boomstick at the west Britain bank. After a short conversation and finding out the player truly had no idea how much a Boomstick might cost I sold him one. Price: 10,000.
Around the same time a well established player from a large popular guild was offering 100,000 gold for a Boomstick at the Luna bank. No questions, no conversation, no delay. Price: 100,000.
In game prices can vary wildly depending on your desire for the item and how quickly you want it.

This is true. Charity does exist in UO. Easy to give up a boomstick if you can spare the cash. I would then just give it for free though, rather than ask for 10k. That is just role playing a meaningful transaction in my humble opinion.
