I decided a while back that I was going to get myself a pair of these glasses for one of my characters. I also decided that I was going to get it from the library (no buying them from a player vendor). I started gathering up the shields or bucklers or whatever from my kills....too slow. I decided ot get my crafter involved....too slow.Given the state of the game and the design choices made by the team - I'm even more saddened by this. I was assuming they didn't play so that is why all the mistakes in design and content. This is even more troubling.
I wonder how many dev's have obtained the mace and shield glasses by using the current turn in method?
I made the decision that I would like the glasses before my funeral, so I went ahead and ended up using mostly gold in order to get them. It took me a bit to get enough gold together to do this (in the meantime, my crafter was still turning in items to defray some f the gold cost), but I eventually did it a couple of weeks ago. There is no way, i could have done this without going the gold route...trying to do this via turn in items would have driven me insane, especially since the value of the turn ins is so low, and the turn in item availability is paltry. Why wouldn't the "collector" accept a wide range of loot, and give more points for better items turned in?
This task, to me, is proof positive that there are elements to the game that the playing devs have not experienced.
