cant get any to work, least with uoam i could drop a marker even is screen was blk,now says i have a missing ddl. uo mapper gives me icon on task bar but nothing on screen as far as a map goes,dont even see a map even in ec . i play classic but have tried ec just for mapper dont work

UOCartographer is the best working map that works for both clients

Install UO cartographer and extract the label files to where uocartographer is installed, if you're running windows 7 or Vista, have it set to run in admin mode.

If using Classic client you will need uoassist, if using Enhanced client you will need pincos ui (there's an option in pincos ui interface to enable cartographer), both clients will require microsoft.net framework installed, goto windows update to get this.

After installation you'll receive a reem of error messages, enter through these until you get a black map. Right click the black map and hit options, set the CC path to where the classis client exe file is saved, do the same for the EC (you will need a fully patched version of EC installed), regardless if you use EC or not, check the 'USE EC MAPS' then click OK, do NOT click rebuild, restart the map.

In options on the map under filter markers, select all to add the labels.

The map should now work

Below is a complete fix for UOAM. If you have version 8.3 or newer you will have the two new spawn will show on your map. (Copied and pasted from an earlier thread)
Download all the files (under the UOAM1-7 tags) into a folder on your desktop, or wherever you want to make a new folder.

If these appear small to you (they do for me), try to right click each image and hit "save target as".
Then you should be able to open it up on your system and zoom in.

Still uoam , uocart down and I cant fish up a sos if you gave me a yaght to do it on! I have done everything listed. I got so far as getting the names of the town places to show up on a black screen..... but as for seeing the ground...........nope.
I am very uptight about this....I want my uoam back!!! (temper tantrum) I want UOCart to work ! AND I WANT IT NOW!!!!! (more tantrums, get use to it - I am pissed major. updateace.dll is the only one in UOAM, is that the name it gives you?

I posted my automap that I use every day in a .zip file in another thread - all you have to do is unzip it and run it - you just can't make it much simpler than that

all the people that have tried it have said it works great - it's my actual copy that I use myself every day without any changes

maybe you like doing things the hard way or whipping yourself on the back all day long like that guy in the Da Vinci code - I dunno - just download my copy and run it - it isn't rocket science (I'm assuming you know how to unzip a file after 20 years of .zip files being around - it's not the most advanced of computer skills)

After you do the download/location of the fix that I posted. You dont need to launch it in quiet mode, you can actually rebuild the files if you like.

I highly recommend you do NOT rebuild the maps in my copy of automap - in order to get new haven and hythloth to show the new changes properly, I had to do some fancy fine tuning - so if you rebuild the maps, all that hard work I did goes right out the window ...

I just started back with UO yesterday after almost 7 years off. Shocked its still up and running and still a P2P as well. I have been searching threads and posts for the past 2 1/2 hrs and all I gotta say is "Have my babies ?" lol Thank you ! I forgot all about UOAM , till I decided to do some T-maps and went searching. I literally wasted 2hrs of my life till I saw this. Thank you , I appreciate it. Even went to the extent of signing up for these forums just to do it , which I never did / do till now.

Lady Storm, it's not plug and play but i will highly recommend Kojak's UOAM. I didn't fish much after the map issues started until i got that map working. You don't have to be a computer genius to get it to work either....
